On the afternoon of September 16, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau - Head of the Organizing Committee of the Con Son - Kiep Bac 2025 Autumn Festival listened to reports and directed the preparations for organizing the Festival.
This year's festival takes place in a special context when the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic complex is part of a complex of relics and landscapes that has just been registered by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage. This is also the first Festival season held after the merger of Hai Duong and Hai Phong.
Therefore, the organized Festival was enhanced in scale; Locations and spaces for organizing activities have been expanded. Including the thematic exhibition program "World Heritage Journey" at Kiep Bac Temple, introducing the process of building UNESCO dossiers, artifacts, antiquities and archaeological discoveries affirming the outstanding global value of the relic site.
At the Festival, the Culture, Tourism and Trade Promotion Week will take place, which will introduce products of traditional craft villages, typical OCOP products, produced in Hai Phong; At the same time, the pilot launch of a number of new tourism products is tours to explore and experience the value of the World Cultural Heritage recently recognized by UNESCO. Therefore, the festival is also an opportunity for Hai Phong to promote its agricultural products, cuisine, craft villages, connect businesses, promote goods consumption, and attract tourism investment.
In addition, the Organizing Committee continues to maintain the unique rituals that make up the brand of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival, such as: Kiep Bac Temple opening ceremony, Army gathering on Luc Dau River, Peace praying ceremony and Lantern Festival, Procession ceremony - death anniversary of Saint Tran. The rituals are performed solemnly, in accordance with traditional customs, associated with the spiritual life of the people.
Along with that, many cultural and folk art activities will take place at the festival, such as: Hau Thanh performance festival, water puppet performance, cultural and sports exchanges, craft village performances... These are both entertaining activities and a way to preserve and spread intangible cultural values.
According to plan, the Festival takes place from October 1-12 at two relic clusters: Con Son - Kiep Bac. Up to this point, the City People's Committee has established the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival with Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau as Head, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung as Standing Deputy Head and 5 Subcommittees assisting the Organizing Committee including: Content; Propagate; Reception, ceremony, logistics; Security and order; Promote Culture, Tourism and Trade promotion. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tran Hung Dao ward and related sectors are rushing to prepare for the Festival to take place successfully.
Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau affirmed that the Con Son - Kiep Bac Traditional Festival is an event imbued with the city's unique cultural identity. The fact that the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic cluster is part of a complex of relics and landscapes registered by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage is not only a matter of pride but also a responsibility for the Organizing Committee to elevate the Festival, while preserving traditional values. The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Festival Organizing Committee, Service Subcommittees and relevant departments, branches and localities to determine the critical path of progress, clearly assign people and tasks, and regularly report to promptly remove difficulties and problems. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Relic Site Management Board need to build sFestival - Tourism products are specific and comprehensive; Propaganda work must be deployed before, during and after the Festival. Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival is a traditional festival held annually. In 2025, the Festival will be held to commemorate the 725th anniversary of the death of National Hero Tran Hung Dao; commemorating the 583rd death anniversary of National Hero, World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai; honoring the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son and Kiep Bac Monuments and Scenic Landscape Complex recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage; celebrate the merger of Hai Duong province with Hai Phong city into Hai Phong city; Celebrate the success of the 1st City Party Congress (term 2025-2030). At the same time, honoring the Tran dynasty in the cause of protecting the Fatherland; Maintain and serve the religious needs of people and visitorswith national cultural heritage values; propagate and promote the outstanding global values of monuments registered by UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of officials and people in practicing, preserving and promoting the value of national cultural heritage; Promote the development of tourism and services of the relic site, the city and the region, orienting to build the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site into an international tourist area./.
