(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of October 7, Chairman of the City People's Committee Do Thanh Trung extended a courtesy reception to the delegation from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Rorze Robotech Co., Ltd., led by Mr. Aguin Toru, Chief Advisor for ASEAN and Vietnam Regional Cooperation and Chief Representative of JBIC's Hanoi Office, during their visit and working trip to Hai Phong. Also attending were representatives of relevant departments, boards, and agencies.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the warm reception from the city's leaders, Mr. Aguin Toru provided an overview of JBIC's role as a policy financial institution under the Japanese Government. As of March 2026, JBIC has supported 372 projects in Vietnam with a cumulative value of 954.5 billion yen, actively co-financing infrastructure and energy development projects and attracting high-quality investment. Representing the Japanese enterprise, Mr. Nakamura Hideharu, Chairman of Rorze Robotech Co., Ltd., affirmed the company's positive contributions with nearly 30 years of investment in Hai Phong in the fields of manufacturing and assembling motor control equipment, robots, and high-tech products for semiconductor manufacturing.

Expressing his pleasure in welcoming the delegation, Chairman of the City People's Committee Do Thanh Trung affirmed that the joint visit and work of JBIC and Rorze Robotech Co., Ltd. not only opens opportunities for implementing specific investment projects but also lays the foundation for deeper cooperation in high-tech fields, supply chains, human resource development, and sustainable energy in the locality.
Providing information on the local potential and strengths, the Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized that Hai Phong is expanding its development space and new drivers with the orientation of forming a Free Trade Zone, the Southern Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone, along with an increasingly synchronized and modern system of industrial parks, deep-water seaports, and logistics. The city particularly prioritizes attracting projects with high technology content, high added value, and environmental friendliness, associated with high-quality vocational training.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee expressed his wish that JBIC would continue to promote its role as a financial and strategic investment bridge between Japan and Vietnam, introduce leading Japanese technology corporations to explore the investment environment in Hai Phong; and at the same time, research opportunities to finance the city's priority projects such as semiconductor industry, clean energy, economic zone infrastructure, green transition, and sustainable development.

Appreciating Rorze Robotech's orientation to expand its investment scale in the semiconductor and supporting industries, the Chairman of the City People's Committee committed that Hai Phong would continue to promote administrative procedure reform, improve the investment and business environment, always accompany and promptly remove difficulties to create the most favorable conditions for Japanese investors to implement projects quickly, operate stably and long-term in the Port City./.
