On the morning of November 12, comrade Le Trung Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Head of the Management Board of Hai Phong Economic Zone chaired a reception and worked with Aries Energy and Transportation Group and Delta Group. Also attending were leaders of relevant departments, branches and branches.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Kien expressed his joy in welcoming the leaders of two large corporations in the fields of energy and shipping - areas that Hai Phong is particularly interested in and calling for investment. He introduced to the Groups the outstanding results in Hai Phong's socio-economic development over the past time, along with the city's potentials and advantages in many fields. Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee said that after the merger, the city's economic scale now ranks third in the country. Hai Phong's economy has maintained double-digit growth continuously for 10 years; affirming that this development is based on the major contributions of the industrial sector, including the shipping and energy industries. Hai Phong isA coastal city with a long coastline with deep-water seaports and a large river system, contributing to convenient waterway and road traffic connections.

At the meeting, delegates discussed challenges as well as opportunities and proposed solutions, wishing to cooperate in the fields of shipbuilding, energy and shipping - industries with traditional strengths of Hai Phong city.
Currently in the city there are about 150 enterprises operating in the field of shipbuilding and support, including 34 shipbuilding factories (5 state-owned enterprises, 3 defense enterprises and 26 private enterprises) with more than 21,000 employees. Products of Hai Phong enterprises have been exported to many major markets such as England, the Netherlands, Korea, Germany, Norway, Japan, and Taiwan.

The city identifies shipbuilding as a specific, leading industry, playing an important role in the process of industrialization and modernization of the country and ensuring national defense and security. In the coming time, the city plans to implement a project to restore and develop the shipbuilding industry, adjusting the development plan to 2040, with a vision to 2050, in the direction of applying automation technology, digital transformation, ensuring environmental standards, and saving energy. Gradually modernize the shipbuilding industry to improve efficiency, connect supply chains, focus on building ship types suitable to existing capacity, ensuring environmental standards requirements, reducing emissions, saving energy, and strongly applying automation technologies. Construction dApply policy mechanisms to prioritize creating conditions to promote the development of the energy and shipping industries, contributing to the development of other industries.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Kien emphasized that Hai Phong always pays attention to and encourages domestic and foreign transportation businesses to invest in this field and pledges to accompany and create favorable conditions for businesses to invest and develop./.
