On the morning of August 19, at Bridge Point No. 01, Ngo Quyen Ward, Hai Phong City People's Committee coordinated with Vingroup to organize the Inauguration Ceremony of the May Chai Bridge Construction Project and the paths on both sides of the bridge.
This is one of three bridge points the city has registered with the Ministry of Construction to jointly organize with the whole country the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony of projects and works to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Also on the morning of August 19, Hai Phong city solemnly held the groundbreaking ceremony and inauguration of 9 key works and projects at 06 Bridge Points on this occasion. The event has special meaning, demonstrating the spirit of determination and strong desire to rise of the Port city in the new stage of development.
Attending the event at Bridge Point No. 01 were comrades: Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong city; Nguyen Danh Huy, Deputy Minister of Construction; Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Le Anh Quan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Dao Trong Duc, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chief of the City Party Committee Office; together with leaders of departments, branches, branches and localities of the city.
Construction work of May Chai Bridge (Royal Bridge) and paths on both sides of the bridge belong to the Vu Yen Island Amusement Park, Housing and Ecological Park Project (Vinhomes Royal Island) - Hai Phong. With a length of nearly 2.2 km, 21 m wide with 4 lanes, the bridge's starting point is on Vu Yen island, the ending point intersects with Le Thanh Tong street, shortening travel time from the island to the city center in less than 5 minutes. In addition to clearing roads, the Royal Bridge is also a new symbol of Hai Phong with a special design: 2 bridge towers create a curved arch shape, both evoking the image of birds flying high and creating the "World Gateway Bridge" as a friendly invitation to the most groundbreaking investment and business opportunities in the region.
Speaking at the Inauguration Ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau emphasized that Hai Phong City's simultaneous groundbreaking and inauguration of 9 key works and projects at 06 bridge points in many fields such as traffic, aviation, health care, culture and social security has affirmed the determination of the Party Committee, authorities and People of the city in successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and the Resolution of the 16th Party Congress. street.
Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that the projects not only contribute to perfecting the modern infrastructure system, promoting socio-economic development, improving people's lives, but also expanding urban space, strengthening inter-regional connectivity, gradually affirming Hai Phong's position as the driving force center for the development of the Northern region.
