(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On May 20, implementing the provisions of the Constitution and the Law on Organization of the National Assembly, the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam solemnly opened at the National Assembly House, Hanoi Capital. The opening session was broadcast live on the Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television and Vietnam National Assembly Television.

This session will consider and decide on many important contents in legislative work, supreme supervision and decide on important issues of the country, in order to continue to institutionalize the Party's policies and resolutions, contribute to perfecting institutions, improving national governance capacity, promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress.

Also at the Session, the 15th National Assembly conducted personnel work to elect the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. With 100% of National Assembly delegates voting in favor, the National Assembly passed the Resolution to elect Comrade Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly - managing the activities of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly as Chairman of the National Assembly.

In front of the National Assembly, compatriots and voters nationwide, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man swore: "Under the sacred red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland, before the National Assembly and fellow voters nationwide, I, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, swear: Absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, to the People, to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, to strive to fulfill well the tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the People."
