(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of December 28, at the administrative center of Duong Kinh district, the District People's Committee held the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the District Medical Center Construction Investment Project. The investment project to build Duong Kinh District Medical Center is implemented at lot YT-01 in the District Administrative Center, with a total investment capital of more than 222 billion VND from the district and city budget. The project has a scale of 200 hospital beds, including main items such as: 07-storey medical examination and treatment area, isolation house (Department of Infectious Diseases), Department of Infection Management, auxiliary works, technical infrastructure, and internal roads.

The project plays an important role in ensuring infrastructure and equipment conditions to meet the needs of medical examination, treatment, care and health protection for people as well as workers working at businesses in the district, contributing to reducing overload at higher level hospitals. Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam emphasized that with the extremely complicated situation of the COVID-19 epidemic, investing in the construction of the Duong Kinh District Medical Center is more urgent than ever, contributing to examination, treatment, and disease prevention for the people, in accordance with the city's health sector development orientation according to Resolution No. 10 of 2014 of the City People's Council on tasks and solutions to protect and care for people's health, improve the quality, efficiency and spirit of medical examination and treatment service.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the Duong Kinh District People's Committee for proactively and actively implementing the project investment preparation in accordance with the law and the direction of the city leaders. At the same time, he requested the district to focus on directing and organizing the construction of the project in accordance with the law, ensuring environmental hygiene, security, order, and minimizing the impact on people's lives and activities.
