Hai Phong city has about 600 streets, located in 7 districts. The urban road network includes a total of 324 km, the center is the Hai Phong Main Port area at Cam River expanding to the East, West and South.
The streets in Hai Phong are very clean, small, narrow, but congestion is rare. There are a few streets with wide areas such as Lach Tray, Bach Dang, Le Hong Phong,... There is a characteristic of the roads in Hai Phong that are planted with a lot of green trees, especially Poinciana trees.
In 2011, the Prime Minister approved the negotiation results of the project "Urban transport development in Hai Phong city" with a total investment of 276.611 million USD. The project "Urban transport development in Hai Phong city" was implemented for 5 years, from 2011 and expected to be completed in 2016. The project includes the construction of a 20 km long Hai Phong urban trunk road from Le Loi commune (An Duong) to Hai An district and bridges on the route including new construction of Niem 2 bridge, Dong Khe bridge crossing Lach Tray river and Truong Chinh road, Rao bridge underpass, bridge renovation Reciting the present. In the field of construction and technical infrastructure development, Hai Phong's urban scale is expanding at a fairly rapid pace. The quality of life and living conditions of the people are increasingly improving. The social infrastructure system meets the requirements of serving life, promoting the strong development of culture, tourism and services. The city focuses on investing in the construction of urban technical infrastructure, especially the gtraffic such as: National Highway 5, National Highway 10, Nga Nam road - Cat Bi Airport, Cau Rao - Do Son road, Dinh Vu - Cat Ba cross-island road, 100m road, Dinh Vu wharf, Lach Huyen gateway port and a series of other urban upgrading and development projects. Hai Phong today does not just stop at 4 culverts, 3 bridges, 5 gates, but has appeared new bridges, as beautiful as silk strips across the river. These are An Dong bridge, Lac Long bridge, Moi river bridge, Tien Cuu bridge, Quy Cao bridge, Kien bridge, Binh bridge, Kien An bridge.
