On the morning of October 9, Comrade Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong city received and worked with the Korean Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) delegation led by Dr. Chang Joon Yeon, Vice President of the Institute, on the occasion of attending Techfest Hai Phong 2025.
Participating were comrades: Dao Trong Duc, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chief of the City Party Committee Office; Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; and leaders of relevant departments, branches and units.

City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau expressed his joy in welcoming the delegation and highly appreciated the results of cooperation between Hai Phong and the Korean Institute of Science and Technology recently. The two sides have implemented many practical cooperation programs such as displaying and introducing technology, connecting technology supply and demand, and attending seminars within the framework of Techfest Hai Phong 2025.
The working session aimed to concretize the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding between Hai Phong City People's Committee and the Korean Institute of Science and Technology signed in April 2024, and at the same time discuss and prepare for a new cooperation signing program scheduled to be held in Hai Phong in November 2025.

The City Party Secretary emphasized that Hai Phong identifies science, technology and innovation as the central driving force to promote rapid and sustainable growth. The city always values and encourages international cooperation in this field, especially with leading prestigious partners such as the Korean Institute of Science and Technology - a unit that has contributed many contributions to the development of Korean science and industry.
He requested the Korean Institute of Science and Technology to continue researching and supporting Hai Phong in key areas such as: developing research units - technology transfer, consulting on high-tech industrial park models, and high-quality human resource training programs. The City is committed to creating favorable conditions for cooperation programs to be implemented effectively, assigning the Department of Science and Technology to be the focal point for connection and implementation.

On behalf of the delegation, Dr. Chang Joon Yeon thanked the city leaders for the welcome, affirming that the Korean Institute of Science and Technology is ready to coordinate, share experiences and support Hai Phong in the fields of science, technology and innovation; contributing to deepening the cooperative relationship between Hai Phong and Korean partners./.
