Hai Phong businesses accompany, plan and develop with the city

On the afternoon of October 11, the City People's Committee organized a conference to meet city businesses on the occasion of the 21st Anniversary of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day (October 13, 2004 - October 13, 2025).

Attending the program were comrades: Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation; Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Le Van Hieu, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council; Pham Van Lap, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Also attending were: Vice President of the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Nguyen Quang Vinh; Comrades, members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; Vice Chairman of the People's Council, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; In particular, the program was attended by more than 400 delegates representing the city's associations and businesses.

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Van Quan affirmed: Over the past 21 years, Hai Phong businessmen have demonstrated a pioneering role in economic development, making important contributions to GRDP growth, budget revenue and employment. The city maintained 10 consecutive years of double-digit GRDP growth, budget revenue exceeded 100,000 billion VND for 4 consecutive years, ranked first in the country in 4 indexes: PAR INDEX, PCI, SIPAS and PGI.

Currently, Hai Phong has about 45,155 private enterprises operating, contributing more than 40% of GRDP, over 50% of domestic budget revenue and creating jobs for nearly 50% of the workforce; including 16 enterprises in the Top 500 largest private enterprises in Vietnam.

With the theme "Hai Phong businesses accompany, contribute and develop with the city", the conference is an opportunity to express gratitude and honor the great contributions of the business community and entrepreneurs, and at the same time exchange and propose solutions to promote growth, improve competitiveness and sustainable development.

At the Conference, many businesses and associations shared and proposed solutions to improve administrative procedures, logistics infrastructure, expand markets, and improve the quality of human resources. These proposals are recorded, synthesized, researched and reported to the Central Government for consideration and removal of problems.

Speaking at the Conference, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Trade and Industry Nguyen Quang Vinh shared and discussed with the city's business community about guidelines, mechanisms, and policies for business development and said that VCCI is ready to coordinate with the city in building a team of entrepreneurs, enhancing dialogue, and promptly solving business problems. VCCI is committed to playing a good role as a representative and bridge between the Party, the State and the business community and entrepreneurs through synthesizing recommendations and listening to feedback from entrepreneurs, businesses and business associations to forward to the authorities.

Speaking at the conference's conclusion, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau acknowledged and respectfully honored the great contributions of the business community and entrepreneurs to the city's socio-economic development in recent times. At the same time, he expressed his deep gratitude for the spirit of companionship and sharing of the business team in the same city, especially in social security activities.

Chairman of the City People's Committee said that the comments of businesses not only reflect the reality of production and business activities but are also an important practical and theoretical basis for the city to continue perfecting institutions and policies, creating a more open and favorable investment and business environment in the coming time. This is also a valuable source of information to help the city promulgate policies suitable to specific characteristics and actual conditions, while also meeting the legitimate wishes of the business community and entrepreneurs.

Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed: "If businesses are successful, the city will develop, and if the city develops, businesses will increasingly prosper." At the same time, we hope that after this conference, the business community will continue to have more regular comments through many channels, including meeting and having direct dialogue with city leaders.

On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the City Business Association for the 2025-2030 term after the merger was officially launched. Businesses participating in the conference donated 11.5 billion VND to support people affected by storms and floods; The money was given to the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee so that it could be sent to "the right person, the right address, the right place"./.
