In particular, the export value of main agricultural products is estimated at 12.5 billion USD, up 7.8% over the same period in 2015; Seafood export value is estimated at 5.7 billion USD, up 5.9% over the same period in 2015; The export value of main forest products is estimated at 5.8 billion USD, up 0.1% over the same period in 2015.
While some products decreased in value over the same period such as rice, wood and wood products, cassava and cassava products, many key products are regaining growth momentum, typically coffee, rubber, pepper, cashew nuts and seafood.
Coffee exports in October 2016 are estimated to reach 121,000 tons with a value of 246 million USD, bringing the volume of coffee exports in the first 10 months of 2016 to 1.5 million tons and 2.76 billion USD, an increase of 40.2% in volume and an increase of 25.4% in value compared to the same period in 2015.
Regarding rubber, it is estimated that the rubber export volume in October reached 140,000 tons with a value of 183 million USD, bringing the rubber export volume in the past 10 months to 1 million tons and 1.28 billion USD, an increase of 15.8% in volume and an increase of 4.5% in value compared to the same period in 2015.
The volume of cashew nuts exported in October is estimated to reach 33,000 tons with a value of 285 million USD, bringing the volume of cashew nut exports in the first 10 months of 2016 to 291,000 tons and 2.33 billion USD, an increase of 5.8% in volume and an increase of 16.6% in value compared to the same period in 2015.
The export volume of pepper in October 2016 is estimated to reach 12,000 tons, with a value of 93 million USD, bringing the 10-month pepper export volume to 159,000 tons and 1.29 billion USD, an increase of 35.7% in volume and an increase of 15.3% in value compared to the same period in 2015.
The seafood export value in October 2016 is estimated to reach 687 million USD, bringing the seafood export value in the first 10 months of 2016 to 5.7 billion USD, an increase of 5.9% over the same period in 2015.
The United States, Japan, China and Korea were the top 4 import markets of Vietnamese seafood in the first 9 months of 2016, accounting for 54.1% of the total seafood export value. Among them, the markets with strong increases in seafood export value are China (51.1%), the Netherlands (14.4%), the United States (14.3%) and Thailand (10.8%)./.
