Minister Nguyen Chi Dung received the World Bank Country Director in Vietnam

At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung highly appreciated the WB's support for Vietnam in recent times with support activities such as: policy advice, technical support and financial provision. At the same time, he highly appreciated the WB's support and together with the Vietnamese Government in building the Vietnam 2035 Report.

The Minister said that the WB plays a very important role for Vietnam, in which the WB Country Director in Vietnam is the bridge between Vietnam and the WB. The Minister hopes that in the coming time, as the new Director of the WB in Vietnam, Mr. Ousmane Dione will contribute to strengthening the good partnership between Vietnam and the WB.

Thanking Minister Nguyen Chi Dung for taking the time to welcome, WB Director Ousmane Dione expressed his honor to be the WB Country Director in Vietnam. This is a mission with many challenges and responsibilities. He also congratulated the Government and people of Vietnam on achieving impressive progress in the country's development process.

Mr. Ousmane Dione affirmed that he will continue to make efforts to strengthen the close relationship between Vietnam and the WB that his predecessor cultivated. The WB will make every effort to achieve more success in the process of cooperation and support for Vietnam. Mr. Ousmane Dione also hopes that the Ministry of Planning and Investment will be the coordinating agency and, together with the WB, build the National Strategic framework for cooperation between the WB and Vietnam in the next 5 years./.
