(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of December 15, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho on-site inspected the progress of the investment project to build Lai Xuan bridge and renovate and expand provincial road 352 in Thuy Nguyen district. This is one of the important transportation projects to achieve the city's inter-regional connection goal.

According to the report of the Project Management Board, currently the biggest problem of the Project is that some premises in many items have not yet been handed over. Regarding the bridge, on the shore of Hai Phong city, the land area that has not been handed over is mainly related to the land of Xuan Nguyen Prison Camp (construction site of 4 pillars and abutments); On the shore of Quang Ninh province, the entire site area for construction of 6 pillars and abutments in Yen Duc commune, Dong Trieu town is still stuck (3 months behind schedule).
Regarding site clearance work to renovate and expand provincial road 352, Thuy Nguyen district is conducting land acquisition procedures. Regarding the construction progress, due to lack of space, only 6/16 pillars of the bridge have been constructed. To date, the Contractors have completed 77/130 bored piles, and are under construction at 6/16 locations of abutments, cantilever beams and super T beams. The estimated volume of implementation is about 150/518.8 billion VND (~29% of the contract); The bidding package for renovating and upgrading provincial road 352 reached more than 11% of the volume.

Through inspection and listening to reports, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho requested the Project Management Board to first focus on prioritizing site clearance work, continue to coordinate closely with Quang Ninh province, ensuring that in January 2024 there must be a site for construction. Assign Thuy Nguyen district and related units to urgently remove existing problems in land clearance in areas of security land, defense land, and businesses, and soon hand over to the contractor.
The Lai Xuan Bridge project is being actively constructed by contractors.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho also requested the Project Management Board to prioritize funding for site clearance work; Contractors focus on manpower to complete the road construction before May 13, 2024; Bridge and culvert sections on the route will be completed in August 2024. Along with that, strictly monitor and manage the volume and quality of works; Strictly implement measures to ensure traffic safety and environmental sanitation during project construction./.
