(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of March 20, the City People's Committee organized a Dialogue Conference with import-export businesses in 2024 with the theme "Cooperation - Development - Efficiency". Attending and chairing the Conference were Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong; together with leaders of relevant departments and branches and 250 businesses in the city.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong said: in 2023, total export turnover is estimated to reach 31 billion USD, up 7.7% over the same period, ranking 4th in the country in terms of export turnover. In the first 2 months of 2024, total export turnover reached 5.1 billion USD, up 24.5% over the same period; Total import turnover reached 4.5 billion USD, up 15% over the same period; Output of goods through the port: estimated at 22.2 million tons, up 6.62% over the same period. Up to now, Hai Phong has 950 valid FDI investment projects, with a total investment capital of 30.04 billion USD. The FDI-invested business sector and the business community in the city have played an important role in creating jobs, increasing export turnover, and making great contributions to the national economy.n state books. At the Conference, there were 78 recommendations in 8 field groups from the business community, which are: problems with specialized management policies; legal regulations in the field of import and export; Propose that the city consider exempting or reducing fees for the city's infrastructure and seaport services and coordinate between agencies to improve fee collection efficiency; Recommendations reflect on the situation of rising sea freight rates, fees and surcharges related to imported and exported goods set by foreign shipping lines, warehouse, yard and port businesses that are unreasonably high (such as CIC fees, lifting fees, container betting, container cleaning,...), the situation of congestion at yards providing/returning empty containers; Digital transformation work of the city in general and the Departments/Departments/Staffin particular; Procedures and regulations for issuance of C/O; Proposals related to upgrading transportation infrastructure connected to the seaport system to develop logistics services in the city; Time to implement processes and procedures of a number of specialized management agencies in the city; on building social housing and kindergartens in industrial parks.
