Director of the Department of Industry and Trade - Bui Quang Hai reported on the city's industrial production situation in the first 6 months of 2022 at the meeting.
According to the assessment of the city's Industry and Trade sector, right from the first months of 2022, city businesses have proactively built production and business plans to adapt to the new situation, restructuring customers and orders.
In the first 6 months of 2022, Hai Phong's IIP grew quite well, reaching 11.84% over the same period, higher than the growth rate of Hanoi (6.6%) and Quang Ninh (11.19%). However, the IIP growth rate has not followed the proposed plan. Typically, some industry groups that contribute a lot to the city's industrial growth have low or declining IIP growth such as: communications equipment manufacturing industry; production of motor vehicles; production of civil electrical appliances; manufacturing motors, generators, electrical transformers, electrical distribution and control equipment... Accordingly, it is forecast that in the coming time, businesses will still face difficulties in raw material prices, freight, raw material supply, consumer markets, and labor. Besides, projectsn expanding production, new products need time to explore market reactions, so it is likely that they will not be produced at full capacity in 2022...
