(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of June 23, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee and leaders of a number of departments and branches received the Australian Embassy in Vietnam delegation led by Mr. David Gottlieb, Economic Counselor, and the director of Australia's leading wind power group Macquarie Corio on a working visit to explore cooperation and investment opportunities in Hai Phong city.

Welcoming the Australian Embassy Delegation to visit and work in Hai Phong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho informed the delegation about the city's socio-economic development situation. It emphasized that Hai Phong is an industrial city with a large demand for energy consumption, however, with the goal of sustainable growth, the city prioritizes the development of renewable, environmentally friendly energy sources, which is also consistent with the Vietnamese Government's greener and cleaner energy conversion strategy.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that Hai Phong always welcomes partners to explore investment and business opportunities for mutual development, in the spirit of compliance with Government regulations. This is the city's second working session with the Working Group. The two sides have mutual understanding about cooperation and investment opportunities. Wind power energy is still quite new, Hai Phong city will research and evaluate aspects of capacity, reputation, and economic efficiency to choose the most suitable investor. Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee hopes that Australia's Macquarie Corio Wind Power Group will become the investor of choice in the near future.
