(Haiphong.gov.vn) – Continuing the Program of the 7th Session, on the morning of May 22, at Dien Hong Hall, National Assembly House, under the chairmanship and direction of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the 15th National Assembly conducted the process of electing the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term.
The National Assembly voted to approve the Resolution to elect the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021 - 2026 term by electronic voting.
The National Assembly voted to approve the Resolution to elect the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021 - 2026 term by electronic voting. With the majority of National Assembly delegates participating voting in favor, the National Assembly passed a Resolution to elect Mr. To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security, 15th National Assembly delegate to the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term.
President To Lam took the oath before the National Assembly and his compatriots and voters nationwide.
In front of the National Assembly and fellow citizens and voters nationwide, President To Lam swore: "Under the sacred red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland, before the National Assembly and fellow voters nationwide, I, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, swear: Absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, the People and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, striving to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State and People."
President To Lam delivers his inauguration speech.
In his inauguration speech, President To Lam respectfully thanked the National Assembly for its trust in electing and entrusting him with the responsibility of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Sincerely thank the Party Central Committee, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the Party and State leaders for trusting and introducing themselves to take on this noble responsibility.
