Many economic sectors maintained high growth rates over the same period such as industrial production, export turnover, and state budget revenue. Specifically, the index of industrial production (IIP) in February 2019 increased by 23.42%, in the first 2 months of the year by 23.72% over the same period, including some industries with high growth rates such as: manufacturing motorbikes and generators (+142.28%); communication equipment manufacturing (+124.92%); scrap recycling (+84.26%).
Export turnover in February is estimated at 674.5 million USD, up 19.28%; 2 months is estimated at 1,446.8 million USD, up 24.98% over the same period. State budget revenue in the area in February is estimated at 5,350 billion VND, of which domestic revenue is 1,700 billion VND; 2 months are estimated to reach 13,777.7 billion VND, an increase of 55.3% over the same period, of which balanced revenue from import-export activities is 9,439.6 billion VND, an increase of 68.5%, local budget revenue is 4,338.1 billion VND, an increase of 32.7%, domestic revenue alone is 4,188.1 billion VND, an increase of 38.1%.
As of February 21, 2019, the city granted 14 new foreign direct investment projects with a capital of 171.49 million USD; adjusted to increase capital for 4 projects with a capital of 18.41 million USD; Investment capital in the form of capital contribution, share purchase, capital contribution is 29.27 million USD; Total capital attracted reached 219.16 million USD.
After listening to the opinions of the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee and leaders of departments, Chairman of the City People's Committee, Nguyen Van Tung, gave instructions at the meeting and assessed that in general, the city's situation during the Lunar New Year of the Pig was stable, people welcomed the New Year happily, excitedly, and safely; traffic order and safety guaranteed; There were no complicated incidents in the city and security and order were maintained. Regarding some key tasks in the coming time, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested departments, branches, localities and units to focus on completely resolving outstanding tasks in the next 1-2 weeks; Strengthen inspection of strict implementation of discipline and public service discipline; Urgently develop an action program to implement Resolution No. 45 of the Politburo on building and developing Hai Phong city to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Relevant localities and departments need to promote the implementation of Resolution No. 32/2018/NQ-HDND of the City People's Council on mechanisms and policies to support new construction and repair of houses for households of people with meritorious services to the revolution who have housing difficulties. Implement early the maintenance of traffic infrastructure in the city, determine the standards for applying the best quality road surface with the most economical cost. Strengthen solutions to control revenue sources, prevent revenue loss and tax fraud, paying special attention to tax revenue from tourism and liquidation of state-owned housing lease contracts; Review projects that have allocated land to businesses for use but have not yet included land rent to calculate and collect land rent.
Regarding the management of urban order and aesthetics, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested to focus on directing and completely handling the sale of shops in flower gardens, on the sidewalks of main streets and within the premises of relics, especially the Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem relic site.
Chairman of the City People's Committee requested departments, branches, localities and units to urgently urge the serious and effective implementation of tasks and work according to the set goals, programs and plans. Focus on implementing procedures related to projects submitted to the extraordinary meeting of the City People's Council scheduled to be held in March 2019, ensuring compliance with regulations.
