(Haiphong.gov.vn) – The City Department of Industry and Trade has just issued a document of information and recommendations to the business community, organizations and individuals in the city with import and export business activities of goods through Lang Son province in general and through the main border gate of Chi Ma, Lang Son province in particular, to proactively regulate goods at the border gate in a reasonable manner.

Currently, the amount of agricultural products from domestic provinces and cities brought to the main Chi Ma border gate, Lang Son province for export to China has increased quite high recently. According to statistics, from November 1, 2021 to November 8, 2021, there were about 1,300 carts of goods, on average only 40 carts of goods were exported to China each day.
Meanwhile, the capacity of the entire yard at the Chi Ma border gate area is 490 - 500 vehicles, while the average number of vehicles at the border gate area ranges from 440 vehicles/day to a peak of nearly 500 vehicles/day. Therefore, with the current customs clearance capacity, it is expected that each vehicle will need more than 10 days to release goods.
According to forecasts, in the coming time, a large number of vehicles transporting exported goods will continue to be brought to Chi Ma border gate, which will cause difficulties for COVID-19 epidemic prevention, as well as ensuring security, order, and traffic safety at the border gate area, especially increasing costs for businesses.
Faced with the above situation, the City Department of Industry and Trade recommends that businesses, organizations and individuals doing import and export business proactively regulate goods to minimize losses in costs incurred or damage to goods due to long-term storage in warehouses.
