On the morning of March 13, 2024, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) organized a Launch Workshop for the Project "Enhancing skills and work opportunities for labor groups at high risk of being trafficked, especially young workers who wish to migrate". This is a foreign non-governmental project approved by the City People's Committee in Decision No. 3628/QD-UBND dated November 3, 2023 with a total non-refundable aid capital of 53,677 British Pounds equivalent to 1,535,800,000 VND.
The program has the participation of IOM officials: Director of Projects and Partnerships, sexual abuse prevention officers, operational support consultants, representatives of Departments and branches: Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Education and Training, City Police, Hai Phong City Youth Union, City Women's Union, Hai Phong College of Economics, Maritime Vocational College (under Vietnam Maritime University); Hai Phong Technical College; Maritime College I; City Continuing Education Center; Thuy Nguyen District Continuing Education Center.

At the Program, IOM generally introduced the organization, programs and projects implemented in countries around the world and in Vietnam. IOM is committed to implementing the principles of humanitarian and orderly migration to ensure the rights of migrants and society. At the same time, IOM also introduced the main activities and results of the Project "Enhancing skills and work opportunities for labor groups at high risk of being trafficked, especially young workers who wish to migrate" in the city as well as disseminating principles of protection from sexual misconduct - one of the skills to support labor groups at risk of being trafficked.

This is the first activity within the framework of the Project so that Project participants such as apprentices, young workers and families of migrants, people without stable jobs, officials and teachers of vocational education establishments... have an overall view of the Project, deeply understand the goals and results from the Project. The project will contribute to preventing illegal migration, especially young workers in the city, through improving working skills and creating jobs along with knowledge about safe and legal migration for young workers in the city./.
