On March 12, 2024, representatives of the Leadership and the Department of Foreign Economic Relations, Department of Finance welcomed a business delegation from Suzhou province, China to learn about the environment and investment opportunities in Hai Phong.

Sharing at the meeting, Ms. Tran Thi Hai Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance, said that cumulatively as of February 20, 2024, there were 178 investment projects from mainland China in the city with a total investment capital of nearly 1.26 billion USD. China ranks 2nd in number of projects and 6th in total investment capital in Hai Phong.
At the meeting, Chinese investors were provided with general information about the investment environment, industrial clusters and the city's investment attraction orientation. Assessing Hai Phong as an attractive destination for Chinese businesses and investors, with outstanding advantages in seaports, convenient transportation systems and strongly invested infrastructure, Mr. Yaping Gu, General Director of Suzhou Zhiyao Industrial Consulting Co., LTD, Head of Suzhou business delegation, hopes the parties will expand trade and investment cooperation in automation products and auto components in the coming time.

In addition, Ms. Hai Yen shared that in the city there are two associations of Chinese investors, "Chinese Business Association in Hai Phong" and "Vietnam - China Friendship Association in Hai Phong" so that the delegation has more information channels about cooperation and investment opportunities. She affirmed that the success of investors is the development of the city. The City Department of Finance will continue to accompany Chinese businesses and investors in investment promotion activities in the coming time.
