(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of March 28, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board coordinated with the City Post Office to organize a workshop "Optimal Logistics solutions for businesses in industrial parks and economic zones in Hai Phong city".
The workshop with the participation of 100 businesses is an opportunity for policymakers, experts, service providers and the business community to exchange, share experiences, and propose feasible solutions to improve logistics efficiency, reduce costs and strengthen supply chain connections. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to promote logistics solutions associated with green transformation and sustainable development, and an opportunity to learn about services and how to do things.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Bui Ngoc Hai, Deputy Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, stated that Hai Phong, as an important logistics center of the Northern region and the whole country, possesses many outstanding advantages to develop the logistics industry. Hai Phong has proactively built and implemented modern, synchronous logistics planning, focusing on developing large-scale logistics centers such as Dinh Vu - Cat Hai, Nam Dinh Vu, VSIP areas... These areas not only play the role of storing and transshipping goods but are also important links in the global supply chain, directly connected to industrial parks, seaports and strategic traffic routes.
Deputy Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board said that with many advantages, Hai Phong logistics industry has made impressive developments. Logistics services maintain a growth rate of 20-23%/year and contribute about 13-15% of the city's GRDP. The city currently has about 250 logistics enterprises, with more than 170,000 employees, 60 large warehouses with a total area of more than 700 hectares, distributed mainly in key seaport areas such as Dinh Vu, Tan Vu, Chua Ve, Hoang Dieu and Hai An. However, Hai Phong's logistics industry has not yet developed commensurate with its potential and role as a marine economic center and international trade gateway of the country. Logistics costs of Vietnam in general and Hai Phong in particular are still high compared to other countriesparticipating in the region, creating great challenges in improving competitiveness for businesses; Supply chain activities between businesses still lack close connection; The relationship between logistics businesses and manufacturing, import-export businesses is currently mainly of a partial cooperation nature, not yet developed into a strategic relationship, accompanying mutual development; Many businesses do not really understand each other's capabilities, products, and services, leading to not taking advantage of each other's advantages to optimize the supply chain...

Faced with that situation, Hai Phong city has given specific instructions to strengthen connection and cooperation between logistics businesses and manufacturing, trading and import-export businesses in the area. The city also aims to build closed supply chain models, promote the application of digital technology, develop soft infrastructure, and pay special attention to training high-quality human resources to meet the increasingly strict requirements of domestic and international markets. These solutions not only help reduce logistics costs, but are also a prerequisite for Hai Phong to realize its goal of becoming a modern, efficient and world-class logistics center in the near future.
The Deputy Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board suggested that in the coming time, businesses operating in the fields of logistics, production, trade and import-export in the area should strengthen coordination and share cooperation opportunities, especially supporting and prioritizing the use of warehouses and logistics services of city businesses. This not only contributes to developing local internal resources, but also creates a solid foundation for a synchronous, effective and sustainable logistics ecosystem.
