On March 20, 2024, at the City Convention Center, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung and representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches and units received a courtesy visit from the Dutch delegation led by the Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management to visit and seek investment cooperation opportunities in Hai Phong.

At the beginning of the meeting, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Phong city Nguyen Van Tung affirmed the strategic cooperation relationship between the Netherlands and Hai Phong city, and provided the delegation with some basic information about the city's socio-economic development and foreign investment attraction recently. Hai Phong currently has 16 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects from the Netherlands with a total investment capital of more than 302 million USD. Currently, the Netherlands ranks 10th in terms of FDI capital and 9th in terms of number of projects in Hai Phong. Dutch FDI projects in Hai Phong focus mainly on shipbuilding, marine machinery and equipment production, warehouse rental, animal feed production, aquaculture feed, and commercial business. At the meeting, the Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands, Mr. Mark Harbers, said that the delegation visited the Damen - Song Cam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and noted that the Company is operating very effectively in Hai Phong. The Minister hopes that Hai Phong city will continue to create favorable conditions for Dutch businesses to operate effectively in the city.
