In recent years, the team of Hai Phong entrepreneurs and businesses has made great contributions to economic growth, job creation, and social security of the locality. Currently, the city's business community has a total of nearly 43,000 registered businesses, but in reality only about 27,000 businesses are operating. The number of large enterprises accounts for less than 1%, small and medium-sized enterprises account for 30%, and micro enterprises account for 60% - 65%.
The contribution of this private economic sector in the period 2020 - 2024 continuously ranges from 40 - 45% of the city's GRDP and accounts for over 60% of total domestic revenue, demonstrating the extremely important role of the business community in the city's economic structure. The business community in the city is still scattered, lacking connections, and has not formed enough strength to participate in regional, national and global value chains and supply chains.

From there, contributing to turning Hai Phong into a modern industrial city in accordance with the goals of Resolution 45/NQ-TW of the Politburo, building the city to become the leading international seaport, logistics, industry and service center in the country.
