Socio-economic situation in February and the first 2 months of 2021: Attracting foreign investment 5.24 times over the same period

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – The City People's Committee has just issued Report No. 75/BC-UBND dated March 8, 2021 on the socio-economic situation in February and the first 2 months of 2021.

In the first two months of the year, departments, branches, branches and localities have actively implemented Resolutions of the Party Central Committee, National Assembly, Government, City Party Committee, People's Council, and City People's Committee on implementing economic - social, defense - security tasks in 2021. Organizing the Tan Suu Lunar New Year ensures safety, thrift, and joy; Social security policies are implemented promptly and effectively, ensuring everyone and every home has a happy Tet. Some industries and fields have high growth rates over the same period such as: industrial production, port cargo output, budget revenue; especially attracting foreign investment 5.24 times over the same period. The political and social situation is stable, national defense and security are maintained. Actively prepare cho election work for the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2025 term.

However, the COVID-19 epidemic situation is complicated, and there have been a number of positive COVID-19 cases outside the community in the city. The number of forest fires and traffic accidents in the first 2 months of the year increased compared to the same period last year.

To perform well the tasks in March 2021, creating a foundation for successfully implementing the goals and tasks set out in 2021, the City People's Committee requires Departments, branches, localities, and units to overcome difficulties, continue to seriously, synchronously and drastically implement the city's guiding measures; Closely monitor the world, domestic and city situations to promptly take direction and management measures; effectively implement the "dual goal" of both preventing the COVID-19 epidemic and focusing on socio-economic recovery and development; constantly innovate development thinking, have creative ways of thinking and working in implementing guidelines and policies to soon realize the goals of the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and the Resolution of the 16th Congress of the City Party Committee.
