Summary report on the implementation of the emulation covenant in 2018, Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung informed that 2018 is the third year that 5 cities have implemented the Resolution of the National Party Congress and the Resolutions of the Party Congresses of the cities; 5-year socio-economic plan (2016 - 2020).
Accordingly, the 5 cities have seriously grasped and drastically implemented the Conclusions and Resolutions of the Central Committee, the City Party Committee, and the People's Councils of the Cities... In 2018, 5 centrally run cities implemented socio-economic development plans in the context of many positive changes in the world and domestic economy.
In 2018, the budget revenue of 5 cities was estimated to reach 730 trillion VND, equal to 57.03% of the country's budget revenue. Of which, Ho Chi Minh City's total budget revenue reached 378.543 trillion VND; Hanoi's total budget revenue reached 244.374 trillion VND; Hai Phong's total budget revenue reached 70,730 trillion VND; Can Tho's total budget revenue reached 11,150 trillion VND; Da Nang's total budget revenue reached 26.515 trillion VND. The total social investment capital of the 5 cities reached 987.886 trillion VND, accounting for 53.21% of the total investment capital of the country; The growth rate of gross product (GRDP) of the Cluster increased compared to 2017, attracting foreign investment reached more than 15 billion USD, average income per capita reached more than 4,000 USD, the number of tourists of the 5 cities was more than 86.47 million visitors. Cities in the Cluster have also emulated and effectively implemented emulation movements launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee. Along with that, the five cities continue to innovate content, methods and solutions in organizing the patriotic emulation movement.
5-city emulation cluster sets themes for 2019, Ho Chi Minh City implements the annual theme "Year of breakthrough administrative reform and implementation of Resolution 54 of the National Assembly"; Hanoi implemented the theme "Improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the political system"; Hai Phong implemented the theme "Strengthening discipline in state budget revenue and expenditure - Promoting improvement of the investment and business environment"; Can Tho continues with the theme "Administrative reform, promoting investment and improving people's lives"; Da Nang continues with the construction emulation theme "The year of continuing to promote investment attraction"...
