On the afternoon of March 8 at the City Convention Center, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh received and worked with Pacific Construction Group (China). Also attending were leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Construction, Department of Transport, Management Board of Hai Phong Economic Zone and Center for Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion. Pacific Construction Group (Pacific Construction Group) is the world's largest private enterprise in investment and infrastructure construction, with 2018 revenue reaching 77 billion USD and a total number of workers of over 360 thousand people. Some typical projects of the Group such as the Beijing - Shanghai, Beijing - Hong Kong, Jiangsu - Xinjiang expressways...; bridge across the Yangtze River, the subway system in Nanjing and many key urban areas in Chinese localities. The delegation led by Mr. Nghiem Gioi Hoa, Founder of the Group, visited and worked in Vietnam from March 6-9 to promote investment cooperation and infrastructure construction in Vietnam.
At the reception, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh welcomed the visit of Pacific Construction Group. At the same time, the Vice Chairman quickly informed the Group about the city's socio-economic development situation in recent years. With advantages in geographical location, transportation system, inter-regional connection and preferential policies to attract investment, Hai Phong is currently considered one of the localities with the best appeal to domestic and foreign investors. Besides the advantages, Hai Phong city continues to receive approval from the Vietnamese Government to invest in developing traffic and infrastructure to meet future economic growth. Mr. Nghiem Gioi Hoa expressed his desire to invest in Vietnam and Hai Phong city in projects that are still open to PPP investment forms as well as promote cooperation in the field of planning, contributing to promoting the economy and further concretizing the bilateral cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China.
