(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of January 9, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized an online conference with ministries, branches, units and People's Committees of provinces/cities directly under the Central Government to summarize the work in 2021 and deploy tasks in 2022 of the Industry and Trade sector. In the growth rate of the entire economy in 2021, industrial production still maintains a good growth rate, the added value of the industrial sector increased by 4.82%, higher than the same period last year; 48 localities have increased IIP index, of which the provinces with the highest increase are: Ninh Thuan, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Hai Phong, Binh Phuoc....
In 2021, although the link between domestic industrial enterprises with the market and global value chain was interrupted for a period of time due to the impact of the pandemic, the proportion of manufactured goods in the total export value still maintained a contribution of over 85%, mainly high-tech products with good growth such as: phones and components increased by 12.4%, electronics, computers and components increased. 14.4%, machinery and equipment increased by 41% over the same period in 2020... Total newly registered foreign investment capital in Vietnam as of December 20, 2021 reached 15.25 billion USD, of which, the processing and manufacturing industry led with a total investment capital of 7.25 billion USD, accounting for 47.6% of the total newly registered capital, creating an important driving forcefor Vietnam's industrial growth in the following years. Import-export exceeded a record of nearly 670 billion USD, bringing Vietnam into the group of 20 leading economies in international trade....
In particular, during the 4th Covid epidemic, which broke out at an unprecedented rate of spread in many localities throughout the country, causing the risk of disruption of the goods supply chain and industrial production chain... In particular, right after the Government's Resolution 128 on safe, flexible adaptation and effective epidemic control, industrial production quickly recovered and grew high (reaching 6.5%) in the fourth quarter of 2021, especially in December 2021, it grew by 8.7%, helping the whole year's results grow by 4.82%, higher than the growth rate of 2020.
Agreeing with the goals, targets, and solution tasks stated in the Report of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh emphasized a number of key tasks. In 2022, to contribute to achieving the country's GDP growth rate of 6 - 6.5%, the Industry and Trade sector has set a target to strive for: the industrial production index to increase by about 7 - 8%; total export turnover from 6 - 8%; The trade balance maintains a surplus state; Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased by about 7 - 8% over the same period...
