Le Chan District completed the dual goal of both epidemic prevention and control and economic development

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of December 25, Le Chan District People's Council held the opening of the 11th session, District People's Council term XVIII, term 2016 - 2021.

The meeting took place for 1 day with the following contents: listening to reports on the results of implementing socio-economic targets in 2020, mission directions for 2021; Report on the results of implementing socio-economic targets for the 5 years 2016 - 2020; 5-year solution goals and tasks 2021 – 2025; Report on the results of implementation of Resolutions issued by the District People's Council; Report on 2020 budget revenue and expenditure results; listen to reports on: adjusting the 2019 budget settlement; 2021 county budget estimates and allocations; Propose to issue a Resolution on providing reinforced concrete sewer pipes to renovate and upgrade the degraded drainage system in the district in 2021; Adjust and supplement the annual public investment plan2021 and the 5-year medium-term public investment plan 2016 – 2020; Supplementing the 5-year medium-term public investment plan 2021 - 2025; Review reports of the District People's Committee and District People's Council Committees; question and answer questions and carry out a number of other contents according to law.

According to the report of the District People's Committee, in 2020, with the efforts, innovation, creativity, determination, solidarity and high unity of all levels, branches, localities, units and people, the district has completed the dual goal of both preventing and fighting epidemics and developing the economy, maintaining a good growth rate, and achieving many socio-economic results in many fields. Total state budget revenue is estimated at 1,165,010 billion VND, reaching 100% of the plan assigned by the city, equal to 85% over the same period. Site clearance work is focused and directed, basically ensuring on schedule. The investment and business environment continues to improve. Investment is focused on infrastructure, creating new breakthroughs, especially transport infrastructure, urban infrastructure, commercial and service infrastructure.. The fields of culture and society, security and social welfare continue to receive thoughtful care, contributing to improving the quality of people's lives.

In the 5 years from 2016 - 2020, Le Chan district has invested and developed the economy with a rapidly increasing scale and expansion, maintaining a fairly high growth rate. The average economic growth rate in 5 years reached 17.1%/year, exceeding the plan set by the District People's Council Resolution. The district's economic scale by 2020 is estimated to reach more than 58,300 billion VND, an increase of 1.98 times compared to 2016, the economic structure is positively shifting, strongly developing service and trade economic infrastructure.

In 2021, Le Chan district determined the year's theme to be "Promoting urban management and embellishment - Land clearance". With the goal of maximizing resources and advantages to build the district into a green, modern, civilized urban area; have synchronous infrastructure, ensuring connectivity, competitiveness, and identity. Highly focus on budget revenue and expenditure, practicing thrift and preventing waste. Implement social security policies well and improve people's lives. Strive to build Le Chan district into a civilized, modern urban area and economic center of the city by 2025 in the spirit of the Resolution of the XXIV District Party Congress.

The meeting will also dismiss the position of Head of the Legal Committee of the District People's Council; dismiss positions and elect members of the XVIII District People's Committee, term 2016 - 2021 and approve draft resolutions.
