In 2024, Laos will assume the chair of ASEAN 2024 with the theme: "Strengthening connectivity and resilience". Although it is a small-scale economy in Southeast Asia, Laos is one of the fastest growing countries in the region in recent years with an average Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate of 8%. To date, Laos has twice held the ASEAN Chairmanship, in 2004 and 2016. As ASEAN Chairman in 2024, Laos will also join member countries in promoting cooperation in all three pillars of the Community including: politics - security, economics and culture - society. At the same time, Laos strives to narrow the development gap in ASEAN, especially in remote and sub-regional areas. Towards an ASEAN "interconnection" is closer, ASEAN countries set out orientations to promote recovery and connection of economies, focusing on sustainable and inclusive development, promoting digital transformation, strengthening the capacity of the health system, protecting the environment, responding to climate change, enhancing cultural and artistic cooperation, enhancing the role and contributions of women and children...
The ASEAN Chairmanship Year is considered one of the largest multilateral events in Laos. This is an important time in the process of building the Community, with ASEAN basically completing the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 to transition to the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. Realizing that this Conference is an opportunity for domestic businesses to meet, share experiences, and cooperate with foreign businesses in the ASEAN region to gain more understanding about the world economy and how to industrial network and overcome current difficulties, the Global Training and Technology Consulting Institute organizes: “ASEAN Summit Participation Program and side events”. The program also creates a platform to connect business to businesses, exchange and meetmeet directly and is a new step for future relationships.
