– On the morning of May 30, Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board coordinated with Pegatron Vietnam Company Limited to organize the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Employee Housing Project of Pegatron Vietnam Company Limited.
In attendance were comrades: Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Le Trung Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board; Le Tri Vu, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; Bui Duc Quang, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; Representatives of leaders of departments, branches, localities and representatives of investors of Pegatron Vietnam Co., Ltd., and businesses doing business in developing Hai Phong Industrial Park infrastructure.

The project to build employee housing of Pegatron Vietnam Co., Ltd. has an area of 5.04 hectares, is built synchronously with technical infrastructure, ensuring enough social amenities with 10 high-rise buildings, with a total investment of 68.3 million USD (equivalent to about 1,600 billion VND). The project strives to complete 3 worker housing buildings, 02 buildings for officials, 01 utility building in the fourth quarter of 2024 and when completed the entire project will provide accommodation for about 10,000 workers. This is one of the important projects, concretizing the Government's Project "Investment and construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period 2021 - 2030"; Implement the directives of the City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee to build trade union institutions and take care of the material and spiritual life of workers and laborers.

The groundbreaking of the Employee Housing Construction Project of Pegatron Vietnam Co., Ltd. is an event of practical significance in the context of the current new situation. Once completed, the project will solve some difficult situations of businesses such as: workers do not have to travel long distances or rent accommodation in areas with inadequate living conditions, employers do not have to arrange buses to pick up workers, helping to save time and costs and stabilize production.

Speaking at the Groundbreaking Ceremony, Mr. Le Trung Kien, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, stated that this is the city's second project after the project of LG Display Co., Ltd., which was assigned and leased land by the city to invest in building dormitories for workers. In the coming time, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board will coordinate with the Investor to accelerate the investment and construction progress of the Project, bringing the project to completion as soon as possible.
