(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of March 20, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh received the Embassy and a delegation of Dutch maritime businesses led by Ms. Elsbeth Akkerman, Dutch Ambassador to Vietnam. Attending were representatives of leaders of departments, branches and businesses operating in the maritime and shipbuilding fields in Hai Phong.

At the meeting, Ms. Elsbeth Akkerman, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Vietnam, thanked the City People's Committee for the warm welcome. Ms. Elsbeth Akkerman emphasized the similarities between Hai Phong city and the Netherlands; At the same time, we hope that through this meeting, the cooperative relationship between Hai Phong city and the Netherlands will continue to develop effectively and sustainably. This visit to Hai Phong is aimed at connecting more strongly with investment cooperation in fields, especially fields related to maritime and shipbuilding. Therefore, the delegation looks forward to introducing and thoroughly learning about Hai Phong as well as the possibilities and opportunities for cooperation to further expand the scale and number of investment projects in Hai Phong.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed the friendly relationship and effective cooperation between Hai Phong and Dutch organizations and businesses. Currently, there are 11 Dutch direct investment projects in the city with a total capital of 156.25 million USD, focusing mainly on shipbuilding, marine equipment production, vehicle engine production, liquefied petroleum gas storage and distribution.
In addition, cooperative activities between the two countries have achieved many outstanding results. Hai Phong City is focusing on improving the business investment environment, administrative reform, completing modern synchronous transportation infrastructure, creating the best conditions for foreign businesses, including Dutch businesses, to invest. The city is committed to always creating the best and most favorable conditions for Dutch businesses to invest in the city.
At the meeting, city leaders and relevant departments, branches and units answered questions that the Working Group was interested in, mainly about investment policies, investment attraction and regimes for investors in the city.
