(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of May 17, Vietnam - Singapore Friendship Association of Hai Phong city (VSFA Hai Phong) coordinated with the Singapore - Viet Impact Venture Association (SVIV) to organize the signing ceremony of "Memorandum of Cooperation".

The goal of the MoU is to support small and medium enterprises ("SMEs") in Singapore and Vietnam to implement cross-border business development and expansion projects. Through that, it helps businesses have the opportunity to improve their competitiveness during the integration period, strengthen business administration capacity and strategic vision in business development.

This signing also opens up opportunities for cooperation and development between small and medium-sized enterprises in Hai Phong and Singapore, especially linking activities, building ecosystems, especially connecting with the international community. At the same time, it helps small and medium-sized enterprises on both sides continue to exploit investment potential. VSFA Hai Phong encourages and creates programs to support small and medium enterprises in Hai Phong to access and expand the market in Singapore.

In Hai Phong, by the end of the first quarter of 2024, there are 72 investment projects from Singaporean investors with a total investment capital of more than 3.1 billion USD, of which Singapore has invested in Industrial Parks and Economic Zones reaching nearly 2.9 billion USD. The investment fields of Singaporean investors in the city focus mainly on industry, real estate business, infrastructure, the remaining are the fields of warehousing, logistics, trade, machinery, textiles... Most of Singapore's investment projects are implemented effectively, creating jobs for workers, contributing to the city's budget revenue./.
