(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of April 7, the Ministry of Transport's working group led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Dong worked with the City People's Committee on the investment scale of Vat Cach Station under the station renovation project on the Northern railway lines.

According to the Railway Project Management Board, Vat Cach Station at route Km91+250 belongs to An Duong district, Hai Phong city, located on the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway, single track, 1000mm gauge; Vat Cach Port currently has loading and unloading roads No. 6 and 7, pull-out road and Cang Bridge road 1... According to the approved investment policy, it is expected to build a new 1,500m2 cargo yard, 1,500m2 warehouse, 1,000m2 loading and unloading road and 1,000m2 road to the station. It is forecast that by 2030, the loading and unloading capacity will be 558,483 tons/year (of which, at Vat Cach Port is 460,361 tons/year and at the Station is 98,122 tons/year).

Currently, because the time for approval of the Hoang Dieu Port and Chua Ve Port relocation project has not yet been determined, the consulting unit proposes investment plans according to two scenarios: not integrated with the local budget and integrated with the local budget. To ensure project approval progress at the meeting, the Railway Project Management Board - Ministry of Transport proposed that the city unify the investment plan according to scenario 1, as proposed by the consultant. Arrange land fund for investment and organize site clearance phase 1, completed in 2022; Update and adjust local planning in accordance with project investment plans; At the same time, direct Vat Cach Port to develop investment plans for items implemented by the Port according to the general progress to ensure synchronous completion of investment items and promote operational efficiency.

After listening to the report and comments at the meeting, and concluding at the working session, Deputy Minister of Transport - Nguyen Ngoc Dong requested the consulting unit to clarify the need for investment and investment stage, and at the same time add more clarity to the legal basis related to the scope of investment scale, current status, and investment funding. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Hai Phong area will be a focal point to focus on developing many ports in the coming time, so the Ministry of Transport is rearranging transport hubs, including railways. The Deputy Minister requested the city to support site clearance costs in the area, update and adjust local planning in accordance with the project investment plan, and report to competent authorities to soon complete and approve the relocation project.i Hoang Dieu port... The Deputy Minister assigned the consulting unit to review and clarify site clearance costs, construction work related to the national railway, and for investment in loading and unloading areas and cargo yards in the Port area. The Deputy Minister requested Port enterprises to commit to synchronous investment to be able to operate synchronously and effectively.
On the city side, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung agreed with the proposals of the Ministry of Transport Working Group, and assigned relevant localities to coordinate closely with the consulting unit during the implementation process, especially clarifying issues of land origin.
