(Haiphong.gov.vn) – Within the framework of a working visit to Hai Phong city, on the afternoon of September 28, Mr. Daniel J.Kritenbrink, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Vietnam, and officials of the US Embassy in Vietnam visited the Bach Dang Giang Relic Site. Receiving the delegation of the US Embassy in Vietnam were Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee and representatives of relevant departments and branches.

At the Relic Area, the Embassy Delegation was given an overview of the Bach Dang Giang relic site, a famous historical, cultural, and religious complex, where the great contributions of three national heroes are remembered: Emperor Le Dai Hanh, King Ngo Quyen, and Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan.
Mr. Daniel J.Kritenbrink, US Ambassador to Vietnam, was extremely impressed with the heroic history of the Vietnamese people. The Ambassador also affirmed that this visit helped the delegation better understand Vietnam's history, especially the Bach Dang victory as well as express respect to the three national heroes who achieved the glorious victory on the Bach Dang River.
In response to the affection that the US Ambassador has given to Hai Phong, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung expressed his hope that this visit by the US Ambassador to the relic site will contribute to strengthening cultural and historical exchanges between the two countries; At the same time, it contributes to promoting the image and attracting foreign tourists to visit the relic site.
