(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the evening of January 21, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized an online conference to deploy economic diplomacy for recovery and socio-economic development in 2022 chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son.
Attending the Conference were Heads of Vietnamese Representative Agencies abroad; leaders of People's Committees of provinces and cities; leaders of units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In attendance at the Hai Phong city bridge were Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong, along with leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The conference was organized to concretize and implement the instructions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Foreign Affairs Conference, the Resolution and Action Program of the 31st Diplomatic Conference on the pillar of economic diplomacy.
Reporting on the results of economic diplomacy in 2021 and directions for 2022, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu, Head of the Economic Diplomacy Steering Committee, said that 2021 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, but it is also an extremely difficult year, with unprecedented challenges for the world economy and the Vietnamese economy. In that context, on the basis of closely following the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State, the close coordination of ministries, branches and localities, economic diplomacy work has been implemented drastically, actively contributing to the Government in implementing dual goals with highlights being vaccine diplomacy, research, consulting work, organizing many promotion and connection activities associated with high-level foreign affairs activities...
Speaking at the Conference, Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that in 2021 economic diplomacy work has achieved many outstanding achievements, in which vaccine diplomacy work, supporting the Government and local ministries and branches in repelling the epidemic have been implemented very drastically and creatively. In just four months, from a country with the lowest vaccination rate in the region, Vietnam has entered the top 6 countries in the world in terms of vaccine coverage, respected and highly appreciated by international friends and businesses.
Mentioning the motto of the entire Foreign Affairs sector in economic diplomacy in 2022: "Desert, innovate, proactively adapt, effective, creative", Minister Bui Thanh Son clearly stated three main tasks that need to be performed, which are: continue to contribute strongly to socio-economic recovery and development, continue to promote activities serving the Government's policy of safe adaptation, flexibility, and control.
