Speaking at the ceremony to welcome the 1 millionth container at Tan Vu branch, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho congratulated and appreciated the unit for overcoming difficulties and obstacles, turning challenges into opportunities to achieve the result of 1 million teu containers passed. He emphasized that Hai Phong Port is the city's leading port unit, actively contributing to socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security of the city and the country. Since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, business and port operations have been affected, especially in some localities that have implemented social distancing. In Hai Phong, the city focuses heavily on disease prevention and control, supporting port businesses to operate safely and smoothly.swallow, maintaining impressive growth. In just 10 months of 2021, the amount of goods through Hai Phong area ports reached nearly 120 million tons, an increase of 7.06% over the same period last year, in which Hai Phong Port continued to have breakthrough developments, achieving high results in production and business, contributing to maintaining the service supply chain, making a positive contribution to the city's socio-economic development.

According to comrade Nguyen Tuong Anh, General Director of Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company, in 2021, seaports in the Hai Phong area face many difficulties and challenges, but Hai Phong Port is determined, unanimous, dynamic, creative, to overcome challenges, and excellently complete the task. In just 10 months of 2021, Hai Phong Port handled 24 million tons of goods, an increase of 8% over the same period in 2020. Although ship schedules often change, causing difficulties in arranging bridges and wharves, mobilizing human resources, equipment, and yard arrangements, Hai Phong Port is flexible in receiving solutions, promoting the application of information technology, avoiding backlogs of goods, and creating convenience for customers. Therefore, the efficiency index of Hai Phong Port, especially TAn Vu is always recognized among the world's best seaports. In just 11 months of 2021, Tan Vu port branch achieved an output of 1 million teu containers, showing the efficiency in production management, creating convenience for shippers, ship owners and the attractiveness of Hai Phong Port. In the future, Hai Phong Port will continue to invest, improve loading and unloading capacity, enhance reputation, and enhance the brand in the region and the world.
