On the afternoon of March 7, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung chaired a meeting to listen to reports on the Plan to organize the Red Poinciana Festival - Hai Phong 2026. Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, branches, units, representatives of the People's Committee of Thuy Nguyen ward and consulting units.
According to the Plan (3rd time), the Red Poinciana Festival - Hai Phong 2026 is organized to promote, introduce images, build brands, promote tourism, and enhance the position and reputation of Hai Phong domestically and internationally. The main activities of the Festival are expected to take place in 7 days, from May 9, 2026 to May 15, 2026. In particular, the Art Program to celebrate the 71st anniversary of Hai Phong's Liberation Day and the Opening of the 2026 Red Poinciana Festival will be held at 8:00 p.m. on May 13, 2026 at the Square in front of the Political - Administrative Center of North Song Cam New Urban Area, Thuy Nguyen Ward. This art program will be broadcast live on VTV channel, Vietnam Television, Newspapers and Radio and Television.Hai Phong and relayed on a number of local stations. Immediately after the Ceremony and Assembly part, there will be a fireworks show at the City's Political and Administrative Center Square.

To ensure a thoughtful organization of the Festival, the City People's Committee plans to establish the Organizing Committee of the Red Poinciana Festival - Hai Phong 2026 with Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau as Head, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung as Standing Deputy Head. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will be the standing agency assisting the Organizing Committee. Funding for implementation is mobilized from the budget and socialization.
At the meeting, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported in detail the draft Decisions to establish the Organizing Committee and Sub-Committees, a report proposing the Festival theme, the scenario plan for the festival's art program, the plan for erecting the stands and the expected guest list.
Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to accept comments from delegates attending the meeting to complete the draft Reporting Plan to the City People's Committee, which should pay attention to clarifying the new points of this year's festival. For the festival's art program, the Vice President assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to closely coordinate with directors and event consultants to develop a detailed script, ensuring high artistry, imbued with Hai Phong's cultural identity, and at the same time demonstrating the dynamic and modern development of the city. Departments, branches and localities need to proactively develop plans to implement assigned tasks, ensuring progress, quality and absolute safety for festival activities./.
