In general, in January 2015, the total newly registered and increased capital was 663.44 million USD, an increase 67.1% over the same period in 2014.
Implemented capital:
As of January 20, 2015, it is estimated that foreign direct investment projects have disbursed 505 million USD, an increase of 8.6% over the same period in 2014.
Export and import situation:
Exports of the foreign investment sector (including crude oil) in January 2015 reached 8.49 billion USD, up 8.2% over the same period in 2014 and accounting for 66.8% of export turnover. Exports excluding crude oil in January reached 8.2 billion USD, up 0.9% over the same period in 2014.
Imports of the foreign investment sector in January 2015 reached 7.8 billion USD, an increase of 41.4% over the same period in 2014 and accounting for 57.8% of import turnover. Overall, in January 2015, the foreign investment sector had a trade surplus of 690 million USD.
According to reports received, as of January 20, 2015, the whole country had 44 new projects granted Investment Certificates with a total registered capital of 392.18 million USD, an increase of 85.5% over the same period in 2014. By January 20, 2014, there were 19 projects registered to increase investment capital with a total registered capital increase of 271.26 million USD, an increase of 45.8% over the same period in 2014.

By investment field:
In January 2015, foreign investors invested in 11 industries, of which the processing and manufacturing industry is the field that attracts a lot of attention from foreign investors with 18 newly registered investment projects, the total newly and increased capital is 605.69 million USD, accounting for 91.3% of the total registered investment capital in January. The wholesale and retail repair sector ranked second. with a total newly registered and increased investment capital of 30.79 million USD, accounting for 4.6% of total investment capital. Ranked third is the field of electricity and water production and distribution with 1 new investment project and 2 capital increase projects with a total newly registered and increased investment capital of 10.44 million USD.
According to investment partners:
In January 2015, there were 15 countries and territories with investment projects in Vietnam. BritishVirginIslands leads with a total newly registered and increased investment capital of 331.32 million USD, accounting for 49.9% of total investment capital in Vietnam; Korea ranked second with a total newly registered and increased investment capital of 110.25 million USD, accounting for 16.6% of total investment capital; Hong Kong ranked third with a total newly registered and increased investment capital of 105.5 million USD, accounting for 15.9% of total investment capital.
By investment area:
In January 2015, foreign investors invested in 13 provinces and cities, of which Ho Chi Minh City was the locality that attracted the most foreign investment capital with 20 new levels and 4 projects adjusted to increase capital with a total newly registered and increased capital of 347.2 million USD, accounting for 52.3% of total investment capital. Binh Duong ranked 2nd with a total newly registered and increased capital of 100 million USD, accounting for 15.1%. Hai Phong ranked 3rd with a total newly registered and increased capital of 96.72 million USD, accounting for 14.6% of total investment capital.

– Worldon (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. project with total investment capital of 300 million USD invested by investor BritishVirginIslands in Ho Chi Minh City with the goal of producing high-end garment products.
– Regina Miracle International Vietnam Co., Ltd. project in Hai Phong adjusted to increase investment capital to 90 million USD. This project is invested by Hong Kong investors with the goal of producing all kinds of women's bras and panties.
– Taekwang MTC Vietnam Co., Ltd. project in Dong Nai adjusted to increase investment capital of 43.2 million USD invested by Korean investors with the goal of producing finished and semi-finished products of sports shoes.
