Investment is most concentrated in the manufacturing and processing industry with 9,600 projects, registered capital of 141.4 billion USD, accounting for 54% of projects and 56% of total registered capital, followed by real estate business, construction, accommodation services, etc. Regarding investment partners, Korea is the largest foreign investment in Vietnam with a total registered capital of 37.72 billion USD, accounting for 14.9%, followed by partners Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan. Regarding investment areas, foreign investment is present in 62 provinces nationwide (except Dien Bien province), with Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Hanoi and Dong Nai leading the way.

In the first 12 months of 2014, there were 63 countries and territories with investment projects in Vietnam.
