In general, in the 10 months of 2015, the total newly and additionally registered capital was 19.29 billion USD, an increase 40.8% compared to the same period in 2014.
1.Operating situation:

In the first 10 months of 2015, it is estimated that foreign direct investment projects disbursed 11.8 billion USD, an increase of 16.3% over the same period in 2014.
Export and import situation:
Exports of the foreign invested sector (including crude oil) in the first 10 months of 2015 reached 95.05 billion USD, up 14.3% over the same period in 2014 and accounting for 70.6% of total export turnover. Imports of the foreign investment sector in the first 10 months of 2015 reached 82.09 billion USD, up 19.3% over the same period in 2014 and accounting for 59.2% of total import turnover. Overall, in the first 10 months of 2015, the foreign investment sector had a trade surplus of 12.9 billion USD.
According to data from the information system on Foreign Investment, as of October 20, 2015, the whole country had 1,657 new projects granted Investment Certificates with a total registered capital of 12.42 billion USD, an increase of more than 24.8% over the same period in 2014. There were 667 projects registered to increase investment capital with a total registered capital increase of 6.86 billion USD, an increase 83.2% compared to the same period in 2014.

In the first 10 months of 2015, there was a sudden increase in foreign investment compared to the same period in 2014 due to the licensing of a number of projects with large total investment capital such as: Duyen Hai 2 Power Plant Project with a total investment capital of 2.4 billion USD by Malaysian investors investing in Tra Vinh; South Korea's SamSung Display Vietnam Company project with an additional investment capital of 3 billion USD, the project is invested in Bac Ninh Industrial Park; De Vuong City Joint Venture Company Limited project has a total investment capital of 1.2 billion USD, the project is invested in Ho Chi Minh City.
By investment field:
Foreign investors have invested in 17 industries, in which the processing and manufacturing industry is the field that attracts a lot of attention from foreign investors with 816 newly registered investment projects and 499 capital increase projects, with a total newly granted and increased capital of 12.49 billion USD, accounting for 64.7% of total registered investment capital. The field of electricity production and distribution ranked second with 7 newly registered projects and 5 capital increasing projects with a total newly registered and increased investment capital of 2.61 billion USD, accounting for 13.6% of total investment capital. Ranked third is the Real Estate Business sector with 25 new investment projects and 8 capital increase projects, total newly registered and increased investment capital is 2.13 billion USD, accounting for 11.1% of total investment capital.

There are 58 countries and territories with investment projects in Vietnam. Korea leads with a total newly registered and increased investment capital of 6 billion USD, accounting for 31.3% of total investment capital in Vietnam. Malaysia ranked second with a capital of 2.53 billion USD, accounting for 13.1% of total investment capital, Japan ranked third with an investment capital of 1.48 billion USD, accounting for 7.7% of total investment capital, the United Kingdom ranked fourth with an investment capital of 1.27 billion USD, accounting for 6.6% of total investment capital,
By investment area:
In the first 10 months of 2015, foreign investors invested in 49 provinces and cities, of which Bac Ninh led with a total newly registered and increased investment capital of 3.52 billion USD, accounting for 18.2% of total registered investment capital. Ho Chi Minh City ranked second with a total newly registered and increased capital of 2.7 billion USD, accounting for 14%. Tra Vinh ranked third with a total newly registered and increased capital of 2.52 billion USD, accounting for 13.1% of total investment capital.
Some major projects licensed in the first 10 months of 2015 are:
– Duyen Hai 2 Power Plant Project with a total investment capital of 2.4 billion USD by Janakuasa Sdn Company. Bhd – Malaysia invests in Tra Vinh province with the goal of designing, constructing, operating and transferring a coal-fired thermal power plant with a capacity of about 1,200 MW (including two units with a design capacity of 600 MW each).
– SamSung Display Vietnam Company project with an additional investment capital of 3 billion USD; This project was licensed in 2014 with an initial capital of 1 billion USD; The project is invested in Yen Phong 1 Industrial Park, Bac Ninh with the goal of manufacturing, assembling, processing, marketing or selling all types of screens.
– De Vuong City Joint Venture Co., Ltd. project has a total investment of 1.2 billion USD by Tien Phuoc Real Estate Joint Stock Company and Tran Thai Real Estate Co., Ltd. Joint venture with investor Denver Power Ltd - UK investment project in Ho Chi Minh City in the field of real estate business.
– Hyosung Dong Nai Co., Ltd. project with total investment capital of 660 million USD invested by Turkish investors in Dong Nai Industrial Park with the goal of producing and processing all kinds of fibers.
– Construction project of Bach Dang bridge, access road and intersection at the end of the route in the form of BOT with a total investment capital of 343.6 million USD investment project in Quang Ninh province.
