Delegates press the button to start construction of VinWonders Vu Yen Theme Park
(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of June 21, Hai Phong City People's Committee and Vingroup Corporation jointly organized the Groundbreaking Ceremony of VinWonders Vu Yen Theme Park project in Hai Phong city. This is an important event in a series of activities to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation, welcome Party Congresses at all levels, and move towards the 16th City Party Congress and the 13th Party Congress. At the same time, marking the complete presence of the entire Vingroup brand ecosystem in Hai Phong city.

Attending the Groundbreaking Ceremony, there was comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Politburo member, Prime Minister and representative leaders of a number of ministries, branches and localities. On the side of Hai Phong city, there were comrades: Le Van Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council; Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Nghia, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation; former city leaders; Members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, leaders of the People's Council, City People's Committee, and representatives of leaders of departments, branches and localities. On Vingroup's side, there was the attendance of Chairman of the Group Pham Nhat Vuong and representatives of the Group's leadership.
With a total investment of 1 billion USD, when completed, VinWonders Vu Yen will be the largest theme park in Vietnam, providing a top-notch entertainment experience right in the heart of the Port city, contributing to the strong development of the tourism industry in Hai Phong in particular and Vietnam in general.
VinWonders Vu Yen is located in the Vu Yen island entertainment, housing and ecological park project, with a harmonious feng shui location, adjacent to the intersection with 3 major rivers. Designed on a total area of 50 hectares according to a modern theme park model including 6 indoor and outdoor entertainment zones with many attractive record items appearing for the first time in Vietnam. In particular, the family play area will include all the most modern indoor and outdoor play items for all ages. Children's play area is specifically designed with experiential highlights towards specialized education in science, sports, virtual reality... Coster World - thrilling and challenging game area at VinWonders Vu Yen – will be located in the central area of the park with all types of modern and fastest roller coasters. In particular, Vinpearl Safari wildlife care and conservation park is present for the first time in the Northern region with rare animals of Vietnam and the world and meaningful stories about animal conservation education and environmental protection. The attractive outdoor water park subdivision is designed to harmonize with 3 large rivers surrounding the island. VinWonders Vu Yen also designed a separate area for a modern, bustling large-scale shopping center with a world of cuisine from 5 continents, bringing comfort and serving all the needs of visitors.
Speaking at the Groundbreaking Ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung emphasized that, implementing the General Plan of Hai Phong city to 2025, vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, Hai Phong has determined: expanding the city's urban space in 3 breakthrough directions, which are: to the North is the area north of the forbidden river, to the South is the area along the Lach Tray and Do Son rivers, to the East is the Cat Hai Island area; In which Vu Yen island plays a very important role, to expand urban space north of Cam River.
Chairman of the City People's Committee said that previously, Vu Yen island was just a swampy area with no connecting roads, so being able to develop urban areas in this area is a big challenge for Hai Phong city. Therefore, in 2015, Hai Phong city chose Vingroup as an Investor in this Vu Yen Island area. Up to now, including the project started today, Vingroup has been investing over 150 trillion VND in the city, in the fields of: Industry - VinFast automobile production, Real estate, accommodation services; commercial center, entertainment and medical field. In particular, since Vingroup invested in Hai Phong until now, it has contributed to the city's budgetloss reached over 15 trillion VND; creating jobs for over 30 thousand workers.

In the Vu Yen island area, immediately after the Prime Minister approved the investment policy of the Vu Yen Island Amusement Park, Housing and Ecological Park Project, Vingroup has focused on investing in the construction of: a 36-hole golf course, the first item of the project, coming into operation since April 2017. Then, in May 2018, Vu Yen Bridge was inaugurated to connect traffic with this area.
The Vu Yen Park project starting today is designed to include 6 indoor and outdoor entertainment zones, with many items appearing for the first time in Vietnam. It will be a wonder on port land, with a scale of 1 billion USD, on a land area of 50 hectares. Among them, there is a Family Play Area, a Children's Play Area, a World of Thrilling Games and especially a Wildlife Care and Conservation Park, present for the first time in the Northern region, and an outdoor Water Park, a modern shopping and dining center, to serve all the needs of visitors.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee believes that, after completion, this project, along with the projects of Sungroup, Geleximco, Flamingo that have just been inaugurated and the 5-star hotels that have been completed, will fundamentally change the tourism infrastructure of Hai Phong city, and will further promote the city's tourism industry to develop into a national and international tourism center; contributing to making the tourism sector one of the three pillars of socio-economic development of Hai Phong city.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and General Director of Vingroup, said that with many advantages and diverse development potential, Hai Phong is currently the most important investment locality of Vingroup in the country. Along with achievements in the industrial sector, in Hai Phong, Vingroup is currently continuing to focus on developing a series of key projects.
Representatives of Vingroup leaders assessed that the Groundbreaking Ceremony of VinWonders Vu Yen Theme Park is a particularly important event marking the important presence of the entire Vingroup brand ecosystem in Hai Phong. When completed, Asia's leading scale VinWonders Vu Yen Theme Park will become a "new destination of the continent" with new experiences that attract domestic and world tourists, contributing to the strong development of the tourism industry in Hai Phong in particular and Vietnam in general. A representative of Vingroup affirmed that this will not only be the pride of the people of the Port but also a symbol of the reach of Vietnamese tourism, affirming a new position on the world entertainment map.
VinWonders Vu Yen is the 4th theme park deployed across the country and the first "Bac Tien" project of the VinWonders system.
