(Haiphong.gov.vn) – To develop the logistics service system of Hai Phong city in a modern, synchronous and sustainable direction so that Hai Phong becomes a national logistics center, has an international role and is a key to marine economic development. The Chairman of the City People's Committee has just issued a Decision approving the Plan for developing the logistics service system of Hai Phong city until 2025, with a vision to 2030, with the goal of developing a network of logistics centers to meet good demand for production and circulation of domestic goods as well as import and export goods with regional and international countries.

Completing the network of logistics centers in the city
Accordingly, in the coming time, the city will plan to strongly develop and diversify the types of logistics services specified in Decree No. 163/2017/ND-CP dated December 30, 2017 of the Government regulating logistics service business, in which, focusing on main logistics services, directly serving the seaport and airport system in Hai Phong area, first of all including: cargo transport agency services goods, customs clearance agency services, container warehousing services supporting maritime transport, container loading and unloading...
Planning 3 main corridors for transporting goods to/from Hai Phong city: Hai Phong - Hanoi axis with two branches to Lao Cai - Yunnan (China) and to Lang Son - Guangxi (China); Hai Phong - Ha Long - Mong Cai axis; Hai Phong - Thai Binh - Nam Dinh - Ninh Binh axis. Planning of air cargo routes is consistent with planning of international flight routes connecting Cat Bi airport to domestic and foreign airports.
Develop a variety of services in the logistics chain to quickly increase the value of logistics services per ton (container) of goods through ports in Hai Phong (seaport, airport).
Strive to 2020, plan 4 logistics centers with a total cargo capacity of about 71.6 million tons/year (of which container volume is about 4.01 million TEUs/year), taking on 40% - 50% of the total amount of goods in need of providing logistics services.
By 2025, planning 6 logistics centers with a total throughput capacity of about 90.65 million tons/year, of which container goods are about 5.07 million TEUs/year, responsible for 50% - 60% of the total amount of goods needed to provide logistics services.
By 2030, continue to develop logistics centers in the direction of upgrading, expanding and investing in depth 6 logistics centers, with a total throughput capacity of 140.35 million tons/year, responsible for 60%-65% of the total amount of goods needed to provide logistics services in Hai Phong city.
Mobilize resources to build projects connected to logistics centers
The City People's Committee proposed 7 solutions to implement the planning, including: expanding and diversifying investment forms in the direction of promoting socialization, mobilizing maximum resources from capital sources such as ODA and PPPl; promulgate policies to encourage and support logistics service businesses; Focus on investing in planning and building synchronous and advanced infrastructure and technical facilities to serve the development of logistics services in Hai Phong, expanding infrastructure connections with countries in the ASEAN region, Northeast Asia and other regions in the world; develop business systems and human resources; enhance the application of technology in logistics service activities; Adjust construction planning and use planningg land ensures community benefits and businesses invest in developing logistics services...
