(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of June 21, under the chairmanship of Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung, the City People's Committee held a regular online meeting in June 2022 to evaluate the results of implementing socio-economic tasks in the first 6 months of the year, task directions and solutions for the last 6 months of 2022.

This is the first regular meeting of the City People's Committee to implement "paperless meetings", aiming to create new steps in administrative reform and gradually improve the quality of executive direction.

Attending the meeting were comrades: Pham Van Lap, Chairman of the City People's Council; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; City People's Committee member; leaders of departments, divisions, branches and units.

Report evaluating the implementation of socio-economic tasks in the first 6 months of 2022, Director of the Department of Finance - Nguyen Hoang Long said that in the past 6 months, the city's economic growth has reached a good level compared to the national average and other provinces and cities. Total GRDP product in the city is estimated to increase by 11.1%; Industrial production index is estimated to increase by 11.69%; Export turnover is estimated at 13.54 billion USD (up 15.33%), equal to 43.68% of the year's plan; Goods through the port are estimated at 71.21 million tons, an increase of 8.24%; The number of tourists coming to Hai Phong is estimated at more than 3.2 million visitors, an increase of 27.37% over the same period; As of June 14, 2022, foreign investment attraction reached nearly 982 million USD...

The fields of culture, society, and environment continue to receive attention; Social security is guaranteed. The Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) has improved strongly; Hai Phong's administrative reform index rose to the top position in the country for the first time. The city also effectively deployed solutions to implement the year's theme "Promoting urban embellishment and modernization - Building model new rural areas - Implementing digital transformation".

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung said that in the first 6 months of the year, the city's socio-economy continued to develop strongly, security and order were guaranteed. Notably, GRDP reached more than 11%, 2 times higher than the national average, budget revenue has many bright spots, so far it has reached more than 50% of the yearly estimate, and city tourism has prospered.

The Chairman also said that the city has started many large projects and is preparing to implement many next large projects, including 2 new industrial parks, Xuan Cau industrial, service, non-tariff park and Tien Thanh and Tien Lang industrial parks. In particular, thanks to exceeding the import-export tax collection plan, Hai Phong was rewarded with an excess collection of VND 1,800 billion.

However, according to the Chairman, there are still some targets that have not been achieved as expected, such as: industrial production index IIP, attracting investment across society; attract FDI capital; export turnover; disbursement of public investment capital; The progress of site clearance and construction in some projects that the city has attracted investment and implemented construction is still slow. High prices of crude oil, raw materials, and transportation costs put great pressure on production and business activities of enterprises; There are also strikes, labor accidents, fires and explosions...

Mentioning the key tasks in the last 6 months of the year, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested relevant industries and units to focus on promoting industrial production growth; attract investment capital from the whole society; Focus on completing procedures for public investment projects; disbursement of public investment capital; build a new model rural commune... At the same time, focus on preparing well the contents to serve the mid-year and year-end meetings of the City People's Council.

Regarding the progress of implementing the Hai Phong City General Plan to 2040, with a vision to 2050, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested functional branches to continue to closely coordinate and closely follow ministries and central branches so that the Plan can be approved soon. After the Planning is approved, it will immediately be applied to works and projects in the city; Besides, there needs to be a plan to implement Resolution 35 of the National Assembly on specific policy mechanisms for Hai Phong city...

The Chairman also requested that sectors and localities continue to focus on quickly resolving administrative procedures and strengthening coordination between sectors and localities. Regarding security and order, the Chairman directed to completely resolve the case of clam farming households overlapping sand mines assigned to businesses, quickly rectify the situation of illegal sand mining and clam farming, and restore order and discipline. Regarding the congestion in the Got ferry area, the Chairman requested the Transport sector to find a solution soon. Districts continue to rectify land and construction management and completely resolve violations.
