Within the framework of the Vietnam - Denmark Comprehensive Partnership Action Plan, the 5th Meeting of the Vietnam - Denmark Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee The circuit was headed by Minister KPlanning and Investment co-chaired by Nguyen Chi Dung and Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Jensen took place on October 11, 2016 in Hanoi.
At the Meeting, the two Ministers noted the rapid developments in bilateral economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Denmark recently, especially since the two countries became Comprehensive Partners in 2013 and signed specific action plans for the years 2014-2015 and 2016.
Bilateral trade relations between the two countries have also developed very positively with the total trade value increasing sharply and Danish investment in Vietnam is also progressing well. The importance of the EU - Vietnam Free Trade Agreement for further promoting trade and investment cooperation between the two countries was also emphasized at the Session. Regarding development cooperation, the two sides have reached an agreement on a roadmap to harmonize their procedures to continue promoting the Danida Corporate Finance Program in Vietnam, aiming to finance projects of appropriate scale to take advantage of modern Danish technology and techniques. Furthermore, the two Ministers also recognized the importance of the strategic cooperation program between Vietnamese ministries and brancheswith Denmark in the fields of environment, food, agriculture, health and education.
In addition to the achievements in economic and trade cooperation, the two Ministers also pointed out limitations that need to be overcome, through measures to further strengthen the roles and responsibilities of Government agencies and businesses of the two sides, and build an effective information exchange mechanism to promptly handle difficulties and obstacles for businesses in trade and investment cooperation activities.
In the spirit of cooperation through the Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee meeting mechanism, the two sides believe that the economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Denmark will continue to develop further and contribute to the successful implementation of the Action Plan of the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement that the two sides have committed to./.
