On the morning of March 4, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the regular Government Meeting in February 2026. This is the first meeting of the Government after the Lunar New Year holiday, held in a combined online format with 34 provinces and centrally run cities.
Attending the meeting at the bridge point of Hai Phong city were comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; leaders of city departments, branches and units.

In February and the first 2 months of 2026, thanks to the drastic intervention of the entire political system, the socio-economic situation continues to trend very positively. People across the country welcomed the Lunar New Year in a joyful, warm and safe atmosphere. Immediately after Tet, localities urgently began to carry out the task of socio-economic development and prepare for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
However, the world context is becoming complicated, especially new tariff policies from the United States and conflicts in the Middle East affecting the global supply chain. Domestically, the economy still faces inflation pressure, exchange rates, gold price fluctuations and barriers from administrative procedures.

To successfully complete the set targets, the Prime Minister requested Government members and local leaders to focus on discussing and carefully analyzing current "bottlenecks" and major challenges. The head of the Government emphasized the need to have timely and flexible policy responses, not to be passive in the face of external influences.

Regarding the key tasks in the coming time, the Prime Minister directed: Focus on concretizing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress and the thematic resolutions of the Politburo into local practice. Deploying breakthrough solutions to maintain the economic growth target of 10% or more. Strongly promote disbursement of public investment capital and maximize social resources for development. Focus on developing cultural, social and environmental fields associated with ensuring national defense, security and foreign affairs.
The Prime Minister asked delegates to propose key tasks and solutions for March and the first quarter of 2026, determined to remove difficulties for production and business, and clear capital sources to create momentum for a breakthrough for the whole year 2026./.
