(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of November 16, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of the City People's Committee, chaired a meeting to hear reports on the progress of projects at Cat Bi International Airport, invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation - Joint Stock Company (ACV). Also attending were comrades Pham Nhu Xuan, Rear Admiral of the Navy; Ta Quang Thao, Deputy Minister of Air Defense - Air Force; leaders of the General Staff and Logistics Department of the Navy Command; leaders of the Northern Airport Authority; Leader of Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC. According to the report, the project to build Passenger Terminal T2 - Cat Bi International Airport with a total investment of 2,050 billion VND has a design capacity of 05 million passengers/year; Domestic exploitation with 2 elevations (separate departure elevation and arrival elevation) and auxiliary items, including: floor road, off-campus parking garage, M&E house, power station, water supply, wastewater treatment, 2-wheel parking garage, toll station...; Station entrance and exit system, connecting internal roads, car parking in front of the station, landscape trees...
Up to now, the project has been surveyed and prepared a Feasibility Study Report by CPG Singapore Consulting and ADCC. The City People's Committee approved the station's architectural plan, appraised and approved the environmental impact assessment. The city police agreed on the fire prevention and fighting plan for the project. The Vietnam Aviation Administration appraises and approves the details of the 1/500 functional subdivision. Project investment preparation work is basically completed, project documents are being updated according to new regulations in project investment preparation work.
For the Cargo Terminal construction project - Cat Bi International Airport with the scale of constructing a Cargo Terminal with a capacity of 100 thousand tons of cargo/year and ancillary technical infrastructure systems, ACV is currently urgently conducting the work of preparing a project feasibility study report according to the approved investment policy.
Airplane apron expansion project phase 1 (in front of the cargo terminal) - Cat Bi International Airport, the aircraft apron construction scale meets 04 code E positions (equivalent to 7 code C positions or 02 code E positions and 04 code C positions), apron area of 56,641.76 m2 with a total investment of 490 billion VND. The project was started on December 29, 2020, to date the project progress has reached 57.06% and related items are being implemented.

Regarding site clearance of projects, up to now, the land area for construction projects at Cat Bi International Airport has been marked with a boundary of 23.55 hectares, including: Terminal T2 area (12.82 hectares), aircraft apron area in front of T2 terminal (7.48 hectares) and reserve land area for development of aircraft aprons and air conditioning lakes (3.25 hectares) handed over. landmarks in the field and sign a handover record to the locality.
The land area for construction of the remaining projects is 16.9 hectares, including: Cargo terminal (8.28 hectares). Land for construction of Port office headquarters and roads (7.18ha), existing road surface (1.44ha), Le Hong Phong intersection to Cat Bi airport have been marked in the field. The city handed over 54,398m2 of land to the Northern Airport Authority and the Northern Airport Authority handed over land to ACV to build the expanded apron phase 1 - Cat Bi International Airport.

After listening to ACV's press release and comments from leaders of ministries, branches, localities and related units, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung assigned city departments and branches to coordinate with ACV to request the Ministry of Transport to locally adjust projects to submit to the Prime Minister for approval of investment policies for the projects. ACV directed the consulting unit to coordinate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to determine the boundaries and land areas of projects completed before November 22, 2021. Military units facilitate consulting units and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment in measuring and determining the boundaries and areas of defense land that need to be recovered to implement projects. Strive to start projects in the first quarter of 2022. At the same time, Chairmanh The City People's Committee assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to review the land allocation process in the previous period. Relevant departments, branches and units coordinate to propose to the city procedures for handing over the runway to ACV for management.
