Starting construction of Cam Ranh Airport international passenger terminal, investment capital of more than 3,700 billion VND

On the morning of September 8, the Ministry of Transport coordinated with the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province to organize the groundbreaking of the project "International passenger terminal - Cam Ranh international airport".

The project "International Passenger Terminal - Cam Ranh International Airport" has a total investment of more than 3,700 billion VND, invested by Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company. The Company's founding shareholders are all big names such as Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), Pan-Pacific Import-Export Company Limited (IPP), Yen Khanh Production Trading Service Company Limited, Viet Xuan Moi Joint Stock Company, Nasco Freight Forwarding Joint Stock Company, VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company. Cam Ranh international terminal project was designed by the consulting joint venture CPG - PAE (Singapore). This unit has provided design consultancy for many new airline passenger terminals in Vietnam such as Da Nang, Can Tho, Cat Bi, Hai Phong.

The project will build 2 departure and arrival elevations; 80 check-in counters; 10 aircraft exit doors; 6 sets of baggage conveyors; Car parking system, synchronous roads leading to and from the station... serve about 2.5 million passengers/year in phase 1, which can increase capacity to 4 million passengers/year. It is planned that by 2030, the international passenger terminal will be able to welcome 8 million passengers/year. The project is divided into 3 phases with a total capacity of 8 million/passenger per year. In particular, phases 1A and 1B are designed with a capacity of 2.5 and 4 million passengers/year, respectively. The plan is that by 2030, the international passenger terminal will reach the set target of 8 million passengers/year.

Phase 1, the terminal is designed with 10 aircraft gates, including 4 telescopic bridges, 2 check-in islands with 20 check-in counters. The project is expected to be constructed within 18 months and will be completed and tested in March 2018. The parallel construction of a synchronous and modern international passenger terminal will help best exploit Cam Ranh International Airport, which is developing rapidly, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the South Central region and the Central Highlands.
