Commencement of Hai Phong International Gateway Port Industrial Park

DEEP C III Area has a scale of 520 hectares (including inland waterway port in the Industrial Park) with a total investment capital of over 5,400 billion VND (equivalent to 260 million USD) managed by Rent A Port Joint Stock Company (Kingdom of Belgium) and Hai Phong City People's Committee (currently operating Dinh Vu Industrial Park, also known as DEEP C Industrial Park).

Responding to the model of sustainable ecological industrial park development in Vietnam, DEEP C III Industrial Park is striving to become an ecological industrial park, associated with two factors: economic development coupled with sustainable environmental protection. Mr. Frank Wouters, General Director of DEEP C said: "The great expectation of the Company's shareholders when participating in this investment program is to implement the ecological industrial park initiative towards a sustainable industrial park model in Vietnam."

Speaking at the Project Commencement Ceremony, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Dang Huy Dong praised and appreciated the positive and effective contributions of Dinh Vu Industrial Park Joint Stock Company in the field of industrial park infrastructure development in Vietnam. Deputy Minister Dang Huy Dong believes that, with the experience of building and developing industrial parks associated with seaports of Belgian partners, the Hai Phong international gateway port industrial park project will continue to be a bright spot in attracting investment, bringing common benefits to Vietnam and the Kingdom of Belgium, while strengthening diplomatic relations and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Deputy Minister Dang Huy Dong emphasized: "Currently, the Government of Vietnam is continuing to improve mechanisms and policies related to Industrial Parks and Economic Zones to promote the driving role of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones in sustainable economic growth. Therefore, the Ministry of Planning and Investment welcomes the Company's long-term orientation and commitment to develop industrial zones, including Hai Phong International Gateway Port Industrial Park in the direction of Industrial Zones." ecology through efficient energy use, application of modern water treatment and reuse technology, attracting high-tech and environmentally friendly projects.

As the sustainable development orientation is being integrated into each socio-economic field by the Government, the Ministry of Planning and Investment highly appreciates Hai Phong city's efforts in creating favorable conditions for Dinh Vu Industrial Park Joint Stock Company to implement green projects in the area, especially for the eco-industrial park initiative. The Ministry of Planning and Investment hopes that the city will continue to create favorable conditions for administrative procedures and support for land and infrastructure for investors to effectively implement the project."

Deputy Minister Dang Huy Dong requested the People's Committee of Hai Phong City, Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board and relevant departments and branches to continue to create favorable conditions for investors to successfully complete their investment goals.

On behalf of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Deputy Minister Dang Huy Dong pledged to continue to coordinate closely with Hai Phong city to promote administrative procedure reform, creating a favorable investment environment for Dinh Vu Industrial Park Joint Stock Company and Belgian partners to successfully implement projects in Hai Phong.

On behalf of Hai Phong city leaders, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee - Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung acknowledged and praised the efforts of the following units: Cat Hai District People's Committee, Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, Investment Promotion Center and the city's departments and agencies for closely coordinating and effectively supporting the investor so that the Project could start on schedule.

In order for the Project to come into operation soon and promote high investment efficiency, Chairman Nguyen Van Tung requested the People's Committee of Cat Hai district, the Economic Zone Management Board, the Investment Promotion Center, and the city's departments and agencies to closely coordinate and closely monitor the project progress to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles for the investor; Dinh Vu Industrial Park Joint Stock Company needs to: Concentrate resources and accelerate the construction progress of industrial park infrastructure. During the construction process, special attention is paid to environmental protection, with priority given to investment in wastewater treatment stations. Immediately deploy investment promotion activities, only attracting projects with modern, environmentally friendly technology and products with high added value.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tung pledged that Hai Phong city will direct the People's Committee of Cat Hai district to continue focusing highly on site clearance work and soon hand over the remaining areas to investors; The city continues to invest in completing the transportation infrastructure system connecting to Cat Hai island; Direct the city's authorities to ensure good security and order throughout the project implementation process.

Also at the project groundbreaking ceremony, Vietnam Electrical Equipment Joint Stock Company (GELEX) and DEEP C III Industrial Park signed a principle agreement to lease 50 hectares of land to build an electrical equipment production complex. GELEX plans to build a 50-hectare electrical equipment complex with an investment capital of about 200,000 USD - 300,000 USD, including the inauguration of the first electric cable factory with German technology worth about 40,000 USD at the end of 2018 operated by CADIVI member unit, followed by the factory manufacturing transformers and other equipment. Products will be exported to customers in Asia and the domestic market. When put into operation, the investment will create jobs for 200 workers./.
