Inauguration of Quang Thanh Bridge: Completing the inter-provincial transportation system between Hai Phong city and Hai Duong province

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of July 17, the People's Committee of Hai Phong city held an Inauguration Ceremony of Quang Thanh Bridge connecting An Lao district of Hai Phong city with Thanh Ha district of Hai Duong province across Van Uc river.

Attending the Inauguration Ceremony, on Hai Duong province's side, there were comrades: Pham Xuan Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hai Duong province; Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.

On the side of Hai Phong city, there were comrades: Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee; Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Do Manh Hien, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; and comrades in the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee. Also attending were representatives of leaders of ministries, departments and central branches; leaders of relevant local departments and branches and former leaders of Hai Duong province and Hai Phong city.

Construction started on May 16, 2020, Quang Thanh bridge was completed in June 2021 after 13 months of construction, 2 months ahead of schedule compared to the committed contract.

Quang Thanh Bridge has a permanent construction scale of reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete spanning the Van Uc River, with a length of 536m; Bridge width is 12m, Quang Thanh bridge consists of 10 spans, design load HL93, navigation compartment size is 50mx9.5m.

The construction of Quang Thanh bridge aims to connect National Highway 10, provincial road DT.360 with provincial road DT.390, provincial road DT.392, National Highway 37 and regional roads, completing the interprovincial road connecting An Lao district, Hai Phong city and Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province. Gradually improve and complete the traffic infrastructure system, contributing to reducing load and ensuring traffic safety on National Highway 5, National Highway 10 and other roads in the region.

A synchronously invested transportation system will bringpositive results in the socio-economic development of the Northern region

At the ceremony, comrade Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province, happily said that, along with the Dinh bridge project, Quang Thanh bridge is a typical project with noble meaning demonstrating the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Duong province and Hai Phong city. The Quang Thanh Bridge crossing the Van Uc River, replacing the Quang Thanh ferry, is an important project connecting traffic between two provinces and cities, especially areas that have had traffic difficulties for many years, that is, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province connecting with An Lao district, Hai Phong city. The project helps shorten transportation distances and enhance goods exchange. This is a favorable condition and basis for developmentEconomic, cultural and social exhibition of Hai Duong province and Hai Phong city. The completed project meets the many years of expectations of the people of the two localities - he emphasized.

To promote the effectiveness of the project, on the part of Hai Duong province, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Transport, Provincial Police and Thanh Ha District People's Committee to manage and control security, order and traffic safety in the area. He congratulated and thanked the Party Committee and People of Hai Phong city for coordinating with Hai Duong province to build a connection project between the two localities, strengthening the good relationship between the People of Hai Duong province and Hai Phong city. He hopes that in the coming time, the two localities will continue to have comprehensive cooperation in all fields.

Speaking at the Inauguration Ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung emphasized that the simultaneous inauguration of two Quang Thanh Bridge and Dinh Bridge projects today will contribute to completing the inter-provincial transportation system connecting Hai Phong city with Hai Duong province and other localities in the region, creating a driving force to promote socio-economic development, expanding economic space, strengthening solidarity relationships, close bond between the people of Hai Phong city and the people of Hai Duong province.

Chairman of the City People's Committee respectfully thanked the effective cooperation and coordination of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee in the process of implementing the projects, and thanked the households and organizations whose land was recovered for supporting and creating conditions for the construction and completion of the project. At the same time, the Chairman also recognized and praised the Investor, Departments, branches and localities of Hai Phong city and Hai Duong province, and the contractors for their many efforts to complete the project to ensure on schedule, quality, technique, aesthetics, labor safety and traffic safety.

At this Inauguration Ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung also added that it is expected that at the end of 2021 - early 2022, Hai Phong city will continue to start construction of Lai Xuan bridge and Ben Rung bridge to connect with Quang Ninh province. This is the effort of Hai Phong and localities adjacent to Hai Phong in implementing Resolution No. 45 of the Politburo  on building and developing Hai Phong city to 2030, with a vision to 2045 to strive: "Hai Phong is the driving force for development of the Northern region and the whole country".
