Results of implementing the Project "Vocational training for rural workers in Hai Phong city until 2020" make an important contribution to socio-economic development

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – According to the assessment of the Hai Phong Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the implementation of the Project "Vocational training for rural workers in Hai Phong city until 2020" makes an important contribution to the socio-economic development, building new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction, and shifting the labor structure of the country. city.

Training classes come from the needs of learners, requirements for labor restructuring, human resource needs of businesses in the area, especially the task of building new rural areas, requirements for restructuring the agricultural sector, and orienting local socio-economic development. The training also pays attention to regional factors, transferring a part of agricultural labor to industry and services, contributing to creating jobs and increasing the income of rural residents.

People's awareness of vocational training has fundamentally changed, from participating in vocational training to learn, studying to receive food support, to vocational training to grasp science and technology applied to production, to have knowledge and skills to change careers, find new jobs with high income, get rich and reduce poverty sustainably.

For non-agricultural occupations, the training program focuses on occupations in the fields of industry, technology engineering, construction, and services to develop supporting industries, training according to working positions at enterprises and craft villages; Vocational training for rural workers has been associated with socio-economic development orientation and implementation of economic and labor restructuring.

A number of traditional occupations have been maintained and promoted such as lacquer techniques, wood carving techniques, sedge mat weaving, bamboo and rattan weaving, fine art embroidery, stone carving... A number of economically, socially and environmentally effective models have been formed, suitable for many localities and are being replicated. There has been a greater connection between training institutions and businesses, between Vocational training with employment after training.

For agricultural occupations, the training program focuses on occupations in techniques and management of crop production, animal husbandry, aquaculture, seafood processing and occupations to implement programs to transform the structure of crops and livestock, and respond to climate change.

The activities of the "Project "Vocational training for rural workers in Hai Phong city until 2020" are deployed synchronously from propaganda and survey activities to improving training capacity, supporting employment after training as well as monitoring and evaluating, thus basically completing the goals of the Project.

To recognize efforts in implementing the Project, recently, the City People's Committee issued a Decision to reward 11 collectives and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the Project "Vocational training for rural workers in Hai Phong city until 2020".
